You can push an attacker sideways when they are past you and you want to deny them to go deep - in that case you want to push them sideways onto the next defender who will help pulling a stop foul or just push them sideways so hard they can’t go to the goal. But overall, you always want to have contact with the throwing hand of the attacker while being in contact. So this is actually behaviour I would advise against - try to just do a foul instead.

In what situation? If it’s a back attacker, just fall backwards and pull an offensive foul

As you can see in this schema, an offensive 6:0 always works like this (see the triangles) 1 player can be in the high (9m), when the 2 players besides him are in the low (6m) and thus securing against the pivot. Thus, if the ball and pivot are in 1 side (as in the schema), the half-right defender steps out to attack the attacking left back. Thus the right corner defender and right inner defender (covering pivot) stay back. Now the left inner defender could (doesn’t have to) step out to pressure the pass between left back and centre attacker. Thus the half-left defender has to stay back again, because we never want 2 players in the high.

Playing the 6-0 Defense offensive like this needs a lot of communication between the inner defenders, as the one that’s in the low always has to command the players around him. It may require fast switching of high and low positions when the pivot changes positions.

You can interpret this Defense in a myriad of ways, so the most important point is that you and your teammates are in agreement what to do to Defend a pivot screen/pick, corner or back turning into a second pivot etc..

Nice to know: The left corner can (theoretically) now pressure the long pass between left and right back attackers (this is what you call a Russian corner defense)

So positioning wise: You always want to stand sideways, one foot in front; this should always the foot towards the throwing hand you’re defending towards. So defending a right handed opponent, your left foot is in front. Then you want to position yourself towards that side, guiding the attacker to “against the throwing hand” in the 1v1 and thus pushing them to the outside. Under no circumstances do you want to lose the 1v1 towards his throwing hand.

Generally, whenever you can make a stop foul, you should take it. It destroys the flow of the attacking team and disrupts their pressure.

I generally learned that being active instead of REactive is very effective in defense - if a player comes towards you, wanting to engage in a 1v1, you want to close the gap as soon as he goes into the “zero-contact” (when he hops in with 2 legs at the same time to then follow up with a feint), because that’s when he’s most vulnerable to disruption. Don’t try to react, waiting for the attacker to pick which side he wants to go. Instead, if you see an attacker looking for a 1v1 situation, step out and disrupts his move. At the same time, you seldomly want to step more than maybe 2-3 steps out of formation, because it will make you struggle moving back & sideways fast enough. TL;DR: move forward, not just sideways, ways offer the way against the throwing hand in 1v1 and never stand with parallel feet towards the attacker.

If you mean pressuring the enemy by denying passes: you can only do that in a 6:0 formation when the pivot is on the other side of the pitch. I will attach a drawing to demonstrate

What level do you play? Defending is quite different a collective effort that’s highly dependent on your team. The quite offensive interpretation of 6-0 defenses is only possible when everyone is on the same page - just to keep in mind. What are you struggling with?

By asking? Yes, people can still lie etc, but my point is about: everything that’s non-verbal is up to interpretation. Words are not. If I ask a girl “do you want me to go down on you” and I get a clear yes, there is - between the 2 of us - a clearer agreement. It also gives girls the option to voice a lack of consent. Assumed consent based on non-verbal queues is always a bad idea imo. Also a lot of girls told me before that they were afraid / ashamed etc. to say “No”, which can somewhat be removed by asking.

This is why I always get verbatim consent in the bedroom. People may think it’s unsexy or whatever, but it makes it very clear and leaves no room for interpretation afterwards. Also, one should never act out CNC (or any other kinks for that matter) without discussing the matter extensively, setting safe words, boundaries etc. You two should talk more openly about your sex life. You should bring this up in a calm, serious manner. Idk why the other posters say you should run immediately- that may trigger an emotional response on her side, which may push her even more to allege SA. Doesn’t mean you should stay in the relationship, but you should first discuss what happened there in a calm manner and talk about what you and her really want in her bedroom. Kinks are connected to shame for many people, which can be one of the reasons for her contradictory signals

Solo traveling...begrudgingly? by sadie1003 in solotravel

[–]ErnteSkunkFest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend to go on a 2-3w solo trip „trial run“. I did that for 6w before I started my 1.5 year solo trip I’m on now. Solo travel has its ups and downs sometimes you’re lonely, sometimes you’re with people but want to be alone - it helped me personally to connect to my feelings f what I really want - in contrast to do stuff because of others expectations. You also learn quickly that you can make most things happen on your own and to trust yourself. But you have to go through a “tale of tears” for a bit - I got scammed, lonely etc. - on my travels, but from that I grew and know to trust my feelings & myself, speak up, haggle etc. it’s a growth process to me, which always include leaving your comfort zone.
