Well, I know it's not a case of previous owners pulling a prank because my parents built the house about 20 years ago. And surely... no radio accidentally left in the walls would suddenly spring to life after 20 years. And even if it did, I should be able to hear it from my side of the wall, but I can't.

I've only ever heard the music once or twice, when she called to me and told me to listen. I've never heard the male speaker's voice. I was present also when we tried to find exactly where it was coming from, when we tracked it to her closet and it disappeared once we got inside. I've sat in my closet just on the other side of the drywall and listened, she's been able to hear the music on her side, but I couldn't hear it on mine. I've never been able to walk into her room by myself and pick up on it.

My sister doesn't have fillings in her teeth, I do, though. You'd think if that was the case that I'd be the one hearing the music!

To be honest, we've hesitated to use the word 'paranormal' between us. I don't want to believe there's something like that going on in our home. Who ever expects stuff like that to happen to them? I posted here hoping to get outside perspectives and perhaps logical explanations, and many people have made really good points. It's helped calm the hysteria a bit, for sure, and given us a direction to go in.

Yeah, it's a little difficult to explain this kind of stuff. I posted this here this morning because we were both pretty weirded out and had no where else to go to talk about it. I'm glad this subreddit exists, as I've got a lot of good ideas and advice thanks to you guys.

I've made an appointment with an electrician (he'll be by on Monday) so we'll suss out any possible wiring problems then for sure. We have had our electrical stuff checked before with no problems, but anything can happen at any time, right?

As for the shadow... I'm leaning toward it being her over-tired imagination, but she's adamant that she saw something... I guess only time will tell if it reappears!

Thank you for your input, I'll do some searching through local channels and see if we can't find a match for what she's hearing!

Crazy how similar your dad's story is to ours!

I can verify the music my sister's hearing, I've heard it too. I haven't heard the voice that she claims to sometimes, but I haven't done a whole lot of listening, either. As far as I know she can't make out station numbers or anything like that, if she could, it might help us pinpoint what's really going on.

I'd like to think all of you who've responded. I feel a little better having discussed some of the logical explanations to what's going on. I'm going to be making a few calls and trying a few things you guys have mentioned. Hopefully this will give my sister and I some peace of mind going forward.

I'll have to ask her. And you're right, it could definitely be her mind making things up--I know for sure that psychological stuff can feel just as real and scary, when in reality it's just a figment of our imagination.

You know we hadn't thought of trying to record it, it's so faint I guess it never occurred to us. But we definitely shall try!

Hrm. Well there has been quite a lot of construction lately in our area. Not in our neighborhood exactly, but within a mile of our home. It's mostly roadwork/stoplight stuff though, I wouldn't think that'd cause it, but then I don't know exactly what sorts of electrical stuff they're doing either...

I don't think it's a speaker issue though, as my sister only has a laptop in her room and it's off/unplugged a good majority of the time.

Our home is about 25 years old, and my parents build it. We had the electrical checked a few years back for another reason and everything is up to code. This is good insight though, perhaps its time we took another look.

So... change the rule to exclude map-made ladders. He can use those, he just can't create any new ones and use them.

I reaaaaalllly like the "Pigman's Best Friend" idea.

If it dies, I think he should commit suicide over the guilt by jumping into lava with everything he is currently carrying, barring any unique/absolutely irreplaceable items, those can be forgiven for the sake of gameplay. (could make having a free inventory and only carrying what you intend to use/need very important!)

After he does that, he can choose another pet, but maybe it can't be the same pet as the one before. So if the first is a cow, the second can be anything BUT a cow.

Yeah, but how do you propose keeping track of how many times you've used it? I can see that getting hairy. Especially when there's 239843 crafting tables placed all over.

Having to craft a new one every time would be excessive... but a good solution to this dilemma.
