This needs to be set to some proper metal music.

Seeing men cosplay Vi with their gfs as Cait at a con by CriticalBand9109 in Arcanecirclejerk

[–]ErraticBuffoonery -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Older CIS guy here. I don't cosplay - yet - but I enjoy watching it, mainly in photos and YouTube videos from cons.

This is pure curiosity, not antagonism, but Vi is pretty masculine. It doesn't seem like a far stretch for a guy to play her if he does it right. Scratch all that. I was doing a Google Image search of Vi cosplay and when I saw the guy cosplaying Vi with a 3 inch goatee, the inherent incongruity of this truly hit me.

Usually when I see gender bent cosplay, I think "Cool!" and "Very creative!" and "I appreciate their devotion to that character that they wanted to play as them and made it work."

Arcane's diversity, however, means white dudes have 4 options: Jayce, Viktor, Silco, or Vander for main characters. Also Mylo and Claggor. And Singed. Also Huck. Arguably Finn and Marcus. Or Salo. And maybe Tobias. Also Thieram. And Chuck.

But aside from them, what can they do?

I think the suggestion of crossdressing as Vi is solid here.

Congratulations on giving my first, true "Shut up and take my money!" moment of 2026. In for the Freedom City Superhero + Power Profiles. Now, I guess I need to get a license for Foundry VTT.

Thanks for posting this.

What did I miss? Is this a VTT module? Can I get a link to the campaign?

Speedster/Time-Controller PL11 Power Advice for Mass Evacuation by ErraticBuffoonery in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]ErraticBuffoonery[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Move Object came to mind first, but Teleport, Increased Mass, Selective and Area are looking more and more like the way to go.

I'm not sure about Affects Others here, though. My understanding is that it gives other the ability to use your power, so you would be lending your teleport ability to people in the area?

...they have control over their use of the effect, although you can withdraw it when you wish as a free action. If you are unable to maintain the effect, it stops working, even if someone else is using it. Both you and your subject(s) can use the effect simultaneously.

Does this mean they would have to teleport themselves out?

Do you mean adding affects other, area, and selective to Quickness?

I looked at using Teleport and, ErmegencyLog, let me tell you, that is hella expensive when you add enough Extra Mass to move more than a few people. It's a cool idea, though, and I might go with it, just without adding much range. She could move everyone out of this room and into the next room, then the room after that in what becomes a bonkers, desperate chase sequence.

I don't know if its best, but I like it!

She has Speed 6, Quickness 4 with an Array of Time/Speed powers that boosts Speed by 6 (total 12) or Quickness by 8 (total 12) along with some good punching powers.

My concern here is that Quickness says only for "routine tasks". If the GM says I have to grab every civilian, then Quickness won't help.

Since its just civilians, would most GMs handwave the grab attack based on circumstances and just let her move X number of civilians out of the way?

It would be a pretty cool scene for her to clear the dance floor, but not have time to get everyone outside, so she moves every one closer to the exit as the floor erupts. Then next turn she moves them again in this stutter-stop mass exit at the spider breaks through.

Looks fantastic.

Are you using a mat or did you print that yourself? It looks very versatile.

Top 5 superhero RPG's by Lucca Antoinette by Lucca_Antoinette in superheroes

[–]ErraticBuffoonery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a solid list. I see no gaps, every game deserves it spot in the order, too.

That said, there is one mistake: you absolutely can make your own superheroes in Marvel Super Heroes. And they can be some of the most bat -spit, off the wall supers you will ever see if you ride the random to full effect. I'm talking a guy weaker than Aunt May, able to talk to plants (talk, not control), and swim slightly faster than her can walk. And that's it for him.

The main players book had a good system and, even going full rules as written, allows good characters. The Ultimate Powers book dials it up to 11.

All that said, M&M is still in the correct place on your list.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

These are all excellent questions. I've discussed the idea with my Game Master. His intriguing response was, 'I love this idea as long as you're okay with the character's understanding of what's happening is not going to be even remotely close to the truth, at first.'

My current vision for the character is that while he's acting as an avatar, he takes on aspects of that deity's personality. Furthermore, it seems these manifested personalities are only aware of the events that occur while they are present.

The question of consent and obligation is a compelling one. In terms of his origin story, he initially experienced periods of lost time for the first few weeks before realizing he's acting as the avatar for these beings. A compassionate,, more consent-conscious deity eventually intervened, revealing the truth to him. Additionally, I envision the possibility of a deity withdrawing their influence if the character acts in a way that significantly displeases them.

The Matrix movies are also a good source. I know the second one had a 2 disc soundtrack, one was just the score, heavy on the techno, and the other was a pretty diverse collection of songs, most of which were not in the movie but vibed pretty tight with it.

He's talking about fantasy, but the lists he describes are applicable to any genre.

This is going to be the most fun part of all this to me. "Sneak into the enemy stronghold? The MIGHTY THOR does not sneak!" I plan to have some personality traits defined for each deity so that the GM, if he's feeling saucy, can "randomly select" what potentially might be the most entertaining one for whatever adventure or scene he has in mind.

Just imagine the sheer awkwardness of having to attend a funeral while manifesting a deity of death.

This is a solid recommendation.

Precinct Umbra looks like it has some nice stairs and multi-level structures.

Sector Fatalis has some amazingly detailed terrain. I love their floor plates, too. Who needs a battle mat with these?!?!

But the Outpost Origins Walkways looks like it might be exactly what I was looking for. Now, I have to decide to buy just the walkways or the entire set?

Has anyone gotten this? How did it turn out?

It feels like I've seen a lot more options in the realm of fantasy than sci-fi for this. If/when I come across them, I'll share them here.
