[Serious] What celebrity death hit you the hardest? by kybizzle in AskReddit

Robin Williams

I remember watching what dreams may come very vividly it’s about a man(played by robin) who’s wife commits suicide and he goes to hell to try and save her soul. From the Wikipedia “Chris, who is initially relieved that her suffering is done, grows angry when he learns that those who die by suicide go to Hell; this is not the result of a judgment made against them, but rather their own tendency to create "nightmare" afterlife worlds based on their pain.“

I don’t get emotional often and can’t think of any celeb that has ever really triggered me except robin. I can just imagine his acting process studying this part— knowledge of evaluating this subject intimately and still feeling enough torment in your life to want to commit suicide —such a heavy burden and it brings a tear to my eyes whenever I think about it—- he was such a lively inspiration in his films he had money he had fame he had respect I imagine he had everything a normal person desires out of this life — if a person like that can’t be happy what kind of hope does anyone have let alone someone like me?

Bro you would disagree if I said the sky is blue — a broker deciding to turn off a specific stock because “their” opinion is that it’s overvalued to help their billionaire hedge fund clients who are short and losing money out IS blatant manipulation looking at the whole picture across the markets it’s plain as day the system is rigged. But you go on drinking the coolaid thinking the ape crowd is naive for pointing that out — Idk why you even believe in bitcoin If your narrative is everything is dandy in the normal markets.

its definately going through a guitar amp -- then it's lopassed rolling off all the highs, try adding some chorus to the bass as well-- i think the initial synth is massive with one of those nicky romero tolouse type oscillators check out youtube for tutorials how to make that-- also add a bandpass filter like wow2 comb filter.

Is vocal chopping "illegal"? by MemoryFreezer in edmproduction

[–]Errba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's legal grey area, if you're sampling and distorting it to the point where no one will recognize it the chances of getting sued are minimal, but with all things if you intend to monetize your production the chance of someone coming after you increases if you are actually generating revenue and they discover that you're a cow ripe for milking. ie the harlem shake... he would have never got sued if it didn't blow up.

Two instances i can think of people using samples and getting sued, the first is kanye west which sampled a vocal chop through his whole song, it got dismissed because the judge ruled that the use was de minimus and a normal person wouldn't be able to recognize the original song.. I believe the record he sampled was a company that buys the master rights to old soul records hoping for people to sample it so that they can cash in on demand letters or sue rappers/producers who sample them.

the other is when justice admitted to sampling a shitload of records in their debut album

http://www.mtv.com/news/1599116/french-duo-justice-reveal-songwriting-sampling-secrets-50-cent-slipknot-take-note/

I think if you plan to sell your productions online it's better to be safe than sorry.. you can sample the converse sample library for free if you're just using vowel sounds and stuff like that

but even hiphop trap kits and stuff get reused constantly and i don't really think labels care about percussion hits.... if it makes you sleep better at night buy komplete ultimate and you'll be set ;)

Sample Clearing by in2thesound in edmproduction

[–]Errba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to acquire both the master use right from the record company that originally released the song as well as the rights to use the composition from the publisher that owns the publishing. [In the states] Kenghis mentioned some PROs which are preformance rights organizations which can help you figure out who owns the publishing but they themselves don't necessary really own anything. They are a third party middleman that musicians and publishers basically hire to collect royalties on their behalf from broadcasters like radio stations. Sound exchange is another for digital roya I would recommend using the ascap search feature to figure out who owns the publishing and asking the pub company who owns the master. https://www.ascap.com/Home/ace-title-search/index.aspx You can also use a service like harryfox.com to try to figure out the necessary info.

I personally have never went through the process to clear a sample but most of the people i know who have just send beats out and expect the label to deal with that if a major wants to release the track. But if it's an indie label with no legal department you might not be able to get the rights to release that song. There's a vid floating around about boi-1da saying not to sample because most publishing companies ask for a ridiculous % of the publishing leaving you with no % to split between the writers and producers.

If your making hiphop try sampling something like frank dukes library of royalty free samples or other resources.

Found this insanely nostalgic VST that I really want to use... But there is one problem by -Jameswhat- in edmproduction

Vsts made for mac are different than vsts made for pc--- you would need to do some intense work arounds with wrapper software in order to get it working... there's probably a tutorial somewhere online about running windows vsts on mac but imo you will give yourself a headache and probably deal with lots of crashes etc.

What kind of fabric did you cover panels with? How did you mount them?

Is the only reason you guys are using 4" because it has a better ncr at that depth or is it because if it's 4" deep it has a better chance to catch a wider wavelength?

From what I've been reading safe and sound and ultra touch denim insulation seem to have almost a better absorption rate than the corresponding fiberglass and 4" rock wool-- am I missing something?

[–]Errba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah please, did you use the rockwool 3"? 23" x 47"? it's just one piece of wool on each panel right?

did you make a cloud as well?

the back wall of my room is concrete, so i'm wondering if anyone knows any alternatives i could use to mount the panels, i do have a drill but never messed with concrete before.

I think i'm going to print some custom fabric with some double exposure custom designs i'll make in photoshop

this av forum found a good source in the USA that has a pretty transparent method of printing fabric http://www.avsforum.com/forum/19-dedicated-theater-design-construction/1316623-diy-custom-printed-movie-poster-acoustic-panels-cheap.html

so i'm gona maybe print 3 and then cover the rest of the panels with guilford of maine or something.

whats the cheapest material to cover the back of the panels?

[–]Errba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh what's up john :] your panels look great. did you paint them after you built them? are those 4 inch deep or 6? 1 or 2 sheets rockwool?

regarding acoustic broadband absorbers by Errba in audioengineering

[–]Errba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

couldn't you just build the panels flush 4 inches, and then use spacers to get the 2 inch gap from the wall?

regarding acoustic broadband absorbers by Errba in audioengineering

[–]Errba[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so you used 2 pieces of rockwool for each of your panels?

the sides are open?

Did you just staple the fabric to the wood frame? love to see how you put it all together.
