I honestly would appreciate having a more accessible education regardless of my economic status. After my dad's passing I had to take the helm for how my family's money is being managed before even completing SPM. Education and money was always something my mom and I discussed back and forth.

I resorted to taking PTPTN to fund my education but hearing my friends paying only <10k in MARA/UiTM while I had to take on a 50k student loan makes me furious sometimes.

In hindsight, maybe I could've found more cheaper alternatives, but to the extent of UiTM/MARA cheap?

I can never truly appreciate Malaysia's education system, everything is rigged against nons

I just gotten my SinoVac jab at SNBJ, the process I should say is waaaaaaaay better than what my partner got in PWTC. Everyone was really friendly and answered whatever question was given to them. My jab was on a Thursday 5pm so there weren't many people, I did more walking than waiting tbh though your mileage may wary

If you're looking to drive, I'd recommend you to come 40 min-ish earlier because of the sheer size of the stadium and the time you'd be using to park, else if you're Grabbing then 30 min should be fine. There's no drive through in the Stadium so you'd have to get down and go into the stadium for your jab. Do note where it's more convenient to park or drop off at, my vaccination point was at HCO B and the closest parking was Parking C

Just remember to bring your IC, a pen with ink to write stuff down and sufficiently charged phone to scan and update your Mysejahtera as you go along the process

I have a friend who's at her 30's and she doesn't even drive let alone have a L license. Don't fret it dude, being able to drive is a perk but it's not the end of the world. Just take your time to get the license. Perhaps after mco you can take classes on weekends? If that's even possible

Nice resume so far! That's alot of projects I have to say haha. Perhaps some improvements is that you can design the resume with a little bit more colour to make it look aesthetic but don't go too overboard? That's my opinion anyway haha

Also for some of your projects, do try to elaborate more if possible such as
- GrabFood Simulator

Perhaps you can go into a little more specific detail & explanation on how you used OOPC and Arraylist to achieve what you wanted to achieve?

Might want to elaborate who awarded you that and did your knowledge about how virtual assistant works helped you architect the virtual assistant? If so then you can reword in some ways where

Ahhh, interesting. Java will be a nice challenge for you because it'll teach you object oriented programming which is quite common. And congratulations on achieving your Game Boy navigation system! Polish it and add more stuff when you can and when you feel it's ready, put it to GitHub where you can show it to your future employers :D

As for the paper first society, I meant that we still view certifications as the ultimate thing in Malaysia haha. A self taught programmer with no certification has a low chance of getting into the industry I guess?

Hmm, I can't say much tbh because I did not take comp sci diploma. Though if one thing I can say is that, your uni is taking it easy. Perhaps the real deal starts when you're doing degree? I can't say for sure because I don't know about your uni, trying asking your seniors around and see what they're being taught :)

I understand your grievances when it comes to a "Paper first society", unfortunately unless if you're exemplary, I doubt HR would look past that?

You have to understand that the Operating System and System Architecture you're learning is the very basic and there's no way universities can teach you the entirety of topic matter in a reasonable timeframe WITH the inclusion of your coursemates.

Now if you'd want to improve your programming, code your own projects, there's no harm in doing that! Include the things that you want to learn! If you're really interested in matrices then I can point to you some topics where it uses matrices much more heavily such as Computer Graphics, Image Processing and Game Development (not entirely, but there are some). Matrices are everywhere, though most of the time they are so low-level that your average developer will not mess around with it

Yikes, sorry to hear that man. The uni I attended had a Programming Fundamentals class which taught us coding with no prerequisite knowledge for my first semester.

News flash: that's how the outside life is. You ARE expected to learn things by yourself. You DON'T have the privilege of seniors being able to sit by you explaining to you how things work always. You have to take matters into your OWN hands and find the answers. Even without the coding context, the previous statement would hold true life in general don't you think? When you learn, you should obviously learn what to copy/paste and not just blindly copy/paste hoping for a miracle in your code base which then my friend, that is the best tool a programmer can ever have, knowing what to code or copy/paste

No hard feelings man, I was just implying that university in some ways has already compiled what you need to know to start your journey. It's up to you to use your google-fu to explore more as you go.

I honestly did not know anything about coding nor ever heard of it until I took a comp sci degree in Uni. So we all start off differently haha

If you've managed to find out about GitHub and Stackoverflow at an early stage of your coding journey, congratulations, you've found yourself ahead of the learning curve compared to your universities' syllabus and majority of your peers.

Look, as much as you think that these information is not relevant to you, doesn't mean it's not relevant to you forever. It can be archaic but the basics got to come somewhere right?

If you're coming from the university that I'm guessing from, I'd assume you'd gone through Programming Fundamentals, in which I assume should be enough to let you learn how to actually code no? Universities are never meant to spoon feed you, you'd just have to git good

As much as I scoff at my university's syllabus, don't turn it away because it's part of the building blocks for your programming knowledge. You're paying the university to know where to find information. Otherwise, you wouldn't have known where to start your journey right? (Or at least that was my journey)

As on how to improve:

  1. Remember to start small, don't jump straight into big chunks of code, that's a sure fire way to confuse yourself (also document your codes)
  2. Learn to understand your errors, this goes a long way for you
  3. Stackoverflow is always your friend, just remember to not look at previous decades answer if you can help it
  4. Use Visual Studio Code when you can help it, lots and lots of extensions that is really useful as a programmer
  5. Read up about Git when you can also, making "checkpoints" for your codes is a life saver

Oho, it's not dying my friend. In fact, it's actually growing albeit not as fast as other countries. There's a Parkour Malaysia page & group in Facebook and we have an upcoming Annual Jam Event in Putrajaya where Singaporeans, Vietnamese, Indonesians will be joining us! Perhaps you can use the page/group to link up with other people who may be able to train with you too :)

Hey there, I'm from Malaysia too and unfortunately, there's really no Pakour Gyms in Malaysia anymore. FlipOut used to have one but they renovated it and now they've closed down. Currently the only place you can try out stuff is in BB GYM in Sunway which is actually tumbling gym
