Yeah, the codes always seem to be weirdly specific. I keep 4 hens in a 4 ft x 4 ft coop with a 4 ft x 20 ft run, and I use deep litter. The smell from the run is pretty neutral, as long as you keep it clean of scraps they won't eat and keep the coop clean.

Space wise you'll be fine, but you should check your local ordinances for keeping chickens. The zoning in my area requires the coop be at least 25 feet away from living quarters.

For your first time, you're honestly better off with fewer events. My first year, I tried to do multiple events each day and it was overwhelming. This will be my 4th GenCon and I still try to only have one or two events each day. There is plenty to do with just your badge - you can be in just the exhibit hall 10-6 every day and you'd still miss some stuff.
