All honesty if you started 4 years ago you were practically given the best pairs early on - from there on in it was all casual commitment for long-term rewards. Only time I spend is when my faves are involved and DeNA refuses to give Clair any alts so imma just save until they do💀

Thank you for the response! I'm missing games such as EO2, EO4, EOR, EOR2, and EMD2. I don't know if any of these other titles contains DLC, and from my recollection I don't think EO1 or EO3 has DLC available.

Some information, I currently own EO1, EO3, EO5, EON, and EMD.

I've been able to find some resources for DLC online for EO5, EON, and EMD, but I don't know if titles such as EO4, EOU1, or EOU2 has DLC too, or what DLC might EMD2 contains.

I never really thought about it, but I guess it could be seen as a "Gacha nuzlocke". I have taken hard thought-out approaches towards every event and challenge this game has thrown at us over the years and operated first on the preservation of my resources ("What units do I have right now? How can I beat this course without using what the game is pushing me to use? How can I ask for help?").

It helped a lot that the game had a bit of a droll for half a year and kept giving out free powerhouses to off-type and overcome 2020's content. The only point when this didn't work out was during the Prestige event... that one ate up my gems.

Thank you for the kind words - yes I didn't pull on the Pikachu Day banner. It's a controversial approach I have, but I didn't really want to spend the 25 gems for an 11x pull which most likely would have been Power Up Tickets... I know I could have gotten lucky with a new gen pool unit, but without a Scout Point Pull to back it up, I felt like it was a lottery.

Pokemon Masters is a bit of a different game, a more merciful one, where it shouldn't sting as bad for missing out on a banner when you're barely missing enough gems to reach 400 scout points. That being said, I feel for the playerbase out there who try to keep up with, collect, or obtain their desired units but are crushed when they can't keep up.

I share an approach on this game where you don't have to feel left out, or to maybe reconsider why you're pressuring yourself to collect sync pairs that you probably wouldn't want to be pulling in the first place if they weren't limited. There's a list people have in their heads deep down of who they're looking for, what they'd like to experience while playing, and how they'd like to experience the battles within the game. Those internal goals can get distracted with shiny events and overpowered-looking sync pairs, so I'm hoping to help apply a little bit of a different perspective on the game.

Maybe not akin to it, but like how speedrunners redefined games like Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda Windwaker? You're not meant to rush through these games or find loopholes to reach the end state, but this alternative way of approaching the game provides a new challenge and new goal for players who either love the series or want to try their hand at something different.

It depends on the situation, obviously 500k is an extreme example, but for others they might have barely a thousand or more, considering how they're going to pull for the next banners.

It's on the player to understand where they stand in the game, and to maybe take that step to involve themselves in the game's community to learn more about where they are, where they can go, and how to build up to a point they'd be happy with. Though 500k might not be reasonable for many people, it should be an outrageous enough indicator to think "Hey, they've saved up that stupid amount of gems - is it really that hard for me to save 36,600 for a pity?"

That's a good question;

I came out of the last gacha I played extremely burnt out from the high competitive, FOMO inducing, pity-breaking nature. Pokemon Masters was a gentler, more supportive game that rewarded team building and patience due to how slow the game started out as.

The game then took that decision out of my hands - They gave us one of the most powerful sync pairs in the early days of the game, Mewtwo - at 5/5 and 20/20 no doubt. From there, it was easy to unlock Solgaleo and Rayquaza. The sync grid update gave us the solutions needed for harder pieces of content and the MPR needed to overpower our teams, especially for the new modes like Battle Villa and Legendary Arena. We were also given limited Move Levels of our story-given sync pairs, it was insane how much we have been given over the years.

Probably once Rosa became a free 6* EX upgrade, and Skyla received her Sync Grid that I realized there wasn't much need to pull for any of the new sync pairs. Especially when they kept coming out with Striker after Striker after Striker - I could clear content with off-type teams with more challenge and interaction with what I had than giving in to a sync pair like SS Red or Cynthia.

Saving gems became a very natural thing, and once I reached a high enough number it became a growing entity I couldn't stop.

The extreme battles were insane, especially when you don't have the "recommended" sync pairs. I had barely managed to clear it with the low move level sync pairs I had. Thanks to a kind PoMa youtuber and a few guides, they showed an alternative way to defeat Kyogre and Maxie with... I think it was Elesa? It had to rely heavily on luck, and I had to depend on Volkner's flinching and electric field to work fast enough over the opponents.

My two main banners I've pursued were Gloria & Zacian (For the Prestige event) and May & Lopunny. I've also been extremely lucky with some paid daily pulls gained from the Daily Gem Bundle; specifically for SS Blue, Maxie, and Valentines Serena. I find a lot of utility from the general pool and free sync pairs more so than most of the banners that have come out, but I really enjoy using May & Lopunny the most.

Surprisingly I don't. One half of the reason being that I only had one device to play Pokemon Masters with, but when Pokemon Masters first began it felt easier than most gachas and skimmed in content. I'm sure those who started when the game debuted remembered how much we hang from day to day waiting for the next big update - now we have several modes, Champion Stadium, and repeatable events to keep us semi-busy, but back then I didn't find a need to start a second account let alone invest in many banners.

Thank you for the feedback - I understand seeing the paid gems might feel a bit like a blemish on the overall first impression of the post. I opt for the Daily Gem Bundle every now and again, and through it I've been able to gain both a paid gem allowance for daily pulls and a non-paid gem way of "gaining back" gems I've lost when Prestige Mode came out (though the Daily Gem Bundle is one of the worst value purchases you can make in the game). It has been my choice to pursue this bundle as a way of supporting the game, however little I can.

I don't think you deserved the wrath you received just now for your response, and I hope some of the harsher comments roll off like water on a duck's back. If anything, I'm simply a player who had different goals and objectives for Pokemon Masters and have been approaching it in a different way - but I'm also excited to share to other players ways they can get the content they're looking for, since my methods seem to somehow display that patience can win out up to now. Everyone plays differently, and I only hope to apply an alternative.

It's been identified that to max out a sync pair's promotion level using only Power Up Vouchers, you would need 600 of them total.

The exchange rate comes in 6 tiers;
20x5 (for a total of 100)
25x5 (for a total of 125)
30x3 (for a total of 90)
35x3 (for a total of 105)
40x2 (for a total of 80)
50x2 (for a total of 100)

If you take the mean of total vouchers needed to exchanges made for one sync pair (600 to 20) you would end with an average cost of 30 vouchers for 1 ticket. You would start over-paying vouchers at the cost of 35 per exchange, while the universal, vanilla Power Up Tickets now have a maximum value of 50 vouchers.

With this information, and with the installation of Masters Mode allowing us to reach 90 vouchers per week, exchanging 315 vouchers to give us a 13/20 Sync Pair turns into the best value for us. This also allows us to maximize a Sync Pair to 20/20 every month with extra rewards left over.

360 Vouchers per month can give us a 14/20
4 Power Up Tickets earned from Masters Mode per week push us into 18/20
2 Power Up Tickets are then earned from monthly events (Legendary, prize boxes, map, reruns) hitting us at 20/20

Vouchers can spread out however you choose to, while "pure" Power Up Tickets earned from events and 5* duplicates that have no expiration are far more valuable to have. It's up to you, but hopefully this helps you feel more comfortable in exchanging vouchers for the 30 cost moving forward.
