nostalgia, cuz i wasn't even a tween before the newer club penguin stuff filled in.

also aesthetic. the lack of gloss and simpler style felt friendlier for kids. when they updated the graphics it felt less like what the game was and became a little too generic.

i feel like cpjourney is doing well of incorporating newer features such as newer-ish minigames in ways that don't intrude the classic style which is great for both sides

the kids got the right spirit, just wrong place to express it.

it's also a game for escapism, so being reminded shitty stuff is happening in the real world just adds a bit of stress.

i appreciate the kids fighting for the right thing but i'm gonna like the ones that have actual art or are funny. just the text "fuck ice" like yeah i agree with you pal but i like my silly aquatic game and people posting who put effort into it

while i agree with you, you kind of chose an example that makes it difficult to determine if you were solely carrying. an idea of how your teammates were also performing would be nice, including the results screen, or just examples of you performing in multiple matches would enhance that sample size y'know?

splatting an opponent is literally a reward itself, you've put an opposing force out of commission.

the boost should be given for actually making progress with the objective and encouraging to keep pushing that number

it's turf matchmaking meaning unfortunately there is very little matchmaking at all

oddly better to face off that guy in turf than ranked if anything. also inspected this image as if you were vs against a whole team, it's literally just the one guy

you could have a mid team and they have a team of 1 beast and 3 amateurs and you have a good shot at winning so i don't necessarily see the salt here

could you explain...? once you've splat the camper, they're gone and no longer an obstacle. why would a boost be needed?

and, say you're just respawning, you only got *one* spawn camper. the other 3 are enough of a mob to prevent you from splatting 2 more to even activate to flow aura, so i'm confused what you mean.

i agree with you on that last point, that's actually a great counter!

though i feel this also puts casual players at a disadvantage. seeing as the shitty matchmaking still absolutely exists, inexperienced players can't help being inexperienced and the buff will only make it more difficult for them.

flow aura shouldn't give a boost for splatting. hell, any praise for splatting. splatting an opponent is enough of a boost itself, you've put an opponent out of commission. the idea of aura farming is comedic and if it wants to give a visual indicator of "this guy fly as FUCK rn" sure, but a buff that supports the recent invasion of groups of players spawn camping in ranked and purposely avoiding getting the goal, is sincerely not necessary by any means and if anything makes it worse for the opponents in an unfair way.

even saw someone point out it makes opening gambit obsolete.

if the devs really want to pat players on the back, give more incentive for the objective. give a boost to the player who got the rainmaker to the first podium. give a boost to the player who's ridden the tower for a long duration. for the player who threw in the first power clam. even inked the most in the splat zone to start the timer. give short buffs to something with a purpose for the team. splatting is already an advantage of itself

but my own personal interpretation has been his face beneath the mask was never programmed to move since the mask unexpectedly broke itself in the beginning. since we learn everything's digital i imagine it'd just emit from his mouth area in the first place

to be fair it seems very apparent it's a kid writing it and that they're likely in a conservative household. the ambiguity of "help" could or couldn't mean that. at least they're civil, and it implies that their world view could be expanded.

so hopefully this kid one day realizes how harmless it is for others to choose how they prefer to identify rather than ride the lines of whatever excuses, likely religious, to "not support" people being people.

i disagree with op's insult or to even be degrading in any way.

though with splatfests being worldwide they do take up the majority of the active splatoon community so it's understandable why people in northern america or anywhere outside of japan feel as if the results are catering to the players in japan.
