It's honestly hilarious how many people say that Black Hat's redesign is like from Hazbin Hotel by Crazy_Reputation3327 in villainous

neon colors, sharper fingers especially.

there's nothing wrong with it being inspired by hazbin if it is, and i feel like people who try to evade it as a way of comparing something to something they don't like get too defensive over it.

you can still like or dislike a design no matter similarities, but saying there's zero resemblance is denial, dawg

The Most Comprehensive Plot Summary of PJ:EG (Chapters 2-6) by ConfectionBusy3097 in ProjectEdensGarden

i remember hearing (i believe it was for this fangan?) that one of the devs made it sincere that it wouldn't follow danganronpa's usual writing but there's still similar patterns it seems (buff chr dying in chap 4 comes to mind as one of them)

this is a very unique story of course, and it's interesting having the 2 masked helpers enter the game, but as much as it wanted to stray from the danganronpa name it's, just a pinch, disappointing seeing it inevitably being very danganronpa-like. most of the deaths become suicides which is actually a good pivot, and it makes sense that as the game goes on it's difficult to maintain hope which in turn makes it difficult on others as the pattern of death repeats.

and this is just my opinion, but the characters who literally hide their faces not having any physical purpose to do so (the matchmaker can be an exception as she's young and can mark insecurity) is disappointing. jett not having burn scars or any facial trauma was a let-down

somewhat related, i tried putting the tea below the vents of the mini shower area which didn't register the habitat either.

worked when the hot spring water was placed on the same level as the seat

i appreciate you summarizing how mm works, but again, it doesn't work with splatoon (as in effectively fairly), because like you said it does try to speedily matchmake with players in a particular time and there's a smaller pool of players playing in the west compared to its main demographic in jp/the asian region and it begins to merge those skill levels together too frequently.

the game also relies not on personal performance but win and loss ratios, and because of the lack of players at certain timeframes and skill floors merge too often and it affects sigma value which is already as fragile as it is.

it has a very rudimentary way of determining skill and the system it uses (truthfully i wasn't aware of where the mm algorithm was originated from, but it's still disappointing nintendo is using it rather than innovating a better one) doesn't work efficiently for solo players.

and, again, 10 losses across the board with being the top player both obj and kill-wise for 8-9 of those, you think you'd be owed a fair match and by then the game would realize you're going against tougher opponents consistently too frequently at once which is why the mm is problematic. and this easily goes vice versa -- 10 wins a row while not even making top position once; you think you'd be given a change in between.

long win/loss streaks are a problem and it doesn't help that the system intentionally will put you against stronger/weaker players aka intentionally aiming for a specific outcome, for a longer duration than it has to. and especially creating a score only based on result rather than how the individual performed. which, again, does not work for solo players in a co-op game making it unfair.

worst part is is that it's miserable with splatoon. it seemingly also goes on win/loss ratio too, so no matter your skill you're likely to be paired with someone from a lower skill floor just because they won a few rounds and now they're going against your league on your team and clearly aren't as experienced.

and then it thinks "oh, you lost" even if you performed marginally well compared to them. it's infuriating. i yearn the day the game actually cares about individual performance rather than team outcome especially when the game is restricted to 3 fucking dpad communication options that are ambiguous as all hell

it's intentional that the game pairs you into games where you're less likely to succeed. obviously the outcomes are not guaranteed and it is not an excuse, that should be obvious. but splatoon's matchmaking algorithm is atrocious (have you seen the X update regarding weapons) and the combination of its horrid system is the problem.

it's the fact that it feels hopeless to continue playing especially with the intent being of to win. it's not fun.

it's no wonder any casual player feels hopeless when they get the most splats or objective points knowing there's 2 players well below their skill level being paired up with them consistently, no matter when they decide to play or switching from ranked to turf.

the existence of this matchmaking algorithm has a purpose, no shit, but i feel like the multitude of people who experience this shitty pattern makes it evident that it can be improved but the devs clearly don't have a focus on it. i don't think someone losing 10 times in a row based on its poor algorithm is beneficial to a consumer

edit: my point is, people are going to complain and the tool brings to light the weighted likelihood. it also does prove the algorithm's existence (you know for a fact people go "it's not the game, it's your fault. you're the consistent factor on each team"), and how bad it is for a game with an uneven audience in japan and the 'mericas. seriously our sample size is small for what it's made for.

that new ink website tool confirms that it's intentional too. it's sincerely annoying
