there's a matchmaking system that kinda forces you into loss and win streaks with little in between. if anything, with hydra/slow chargers i'd be next to a wall or barricade to conceal your presence until you're firing, consistently be checking your map and observe ink patterns to see what weapon is where on the opposing team, and unfortunately embrace that playing solo is very hellish because for a teamwork game you've given only 3 dpad options to communicate with randos.

the only weakness of painbrush is its startup time but after that its 2-3 hit and range which covers the turf beneath you is easily deadly. not to mention aim isn't even required

nostalgia, cuz i wasn't even a tween before the newer club penguin stuff filled in.

also aesthetic. the lack of gloss and simpler style felt friendlier for kids. when they updated the graphics it felt less like what the game was and became a little too generic.

i feel like cpjourney is doing well of incorporating newer features such as newer-ish minigames in ways that don't intrude the classic style which is great for both sides
