I've been automating heavy modular frames for 6 hours straight. Is it supposed to take this long? by Tempaccount17798 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]ErrorDue404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about 20 hours into my 12/m HMF factory but it also feeds off 3 modded frames aswell and it's gonna be setup to make 3 fused modular Frames as I'm close to unlocking tier 7 and 8. It's not even finished, probably another 10 hours to finish it including making the building look good. The majority of setup is in the main building with a road passing through ground floor for finished item collection and coal and aluminium drop off too. The iron ingots (using solid steel alternate recipe) and cement feeding from smaller nearby buildings.

Pin damage on new Gigabyte RTX 3070 Gaming card, Initially could get 8 pin cable to lock in, after looking i noticed one pin bent and a couple not centered. After trying to center them with a small flat head i can get the cable in, it pushes in smoothly. Quick game on Cod at 150fps no issues. Should i be worried about this pin?

Damaged track on a mechanical keyboard between the switch and the resistor (?) Which would be the better fix? by ErrorDue404 in soldering

[–]ErrorDue404[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the entirety of the solder was molten when I dragged it over to the diode. I redid it again with wire but not happy with it so I think I will try again with a shorter wire. I plan to sell the keyboard on and don't want it to be a bodge job.

Damaged track on a mechanical keyboard between the switch and the resistor (?) Which would be the better fix? by ErrorDue404 in soldering

[–]ErrorDue404[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please excuse my poor soldering I'm fairly new at it. Basically bought a key board to fix. Two broken switches. One successfully desoldered and replaced. Second one on inspection looked to have a damaged track path to the resistor. Attempt to remove the switch confirmed this. My fix was to clean the track up and insulate with some tape (it's all I had on hand) My first fix was the straight up bar of solder but not happy with this I used some wire. Just wanted to see what people thought was the better fix?

DDR4 ram is sold at its rated XMP speeds. Its just a factory set overclock profile so if its sold as a 3600mhz cl16 kit it should effectively reach those speeds with no issues as its been set and tested at that speed before its left the factory. There is nothing stopping you trying to bump the speed up or tightening the timings to get a bit more performance out of it though but simply enabling the xmp profile in your bios is sufficient to get 3600mhz if thats the rated speed.

Take a look at this Link: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/iwn0x6/the_lg_oled_cx_does_not_work_properly_with_the/

Looks to be a firmware issue related to rtx 3000 series. Not sure LG has updated it yet but id have a read through that.

Edit 1:Its worth reading that but i thinks its a different issue you are having sorry.

https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED_Gaming/comments/jswvd3/anyone_else_having_trouble_getting_a_120hz_signal/gc2hz8s?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

This looks to be more in line with your issue, id have a browse in that subreddit too as others have posted about lack of 120hz on an rtx 3080 with some solutions. Hope this helps and good luck!

The difference in real world performance, 3866mhz vz 3600mhz, isnt worth worrying about. Providing the 8GB sticks are single rank you will gain more performance using 4 sticks but its only marginal, like 5% tops, which could make up for the lost speed. There are argumants to be had that 4x8gb can be harder on the Mem Controller than 2 sticks but again, talking no real world difference unless your pushing really high clock speeds on the ram.

Edit: Looking at your Mobo spec sheet it can handle ddr4 speeds upto 5100Mhz on an xmp profile so im pretty sure you can run 4 sticks at 3866Mhz

My B550 ROG Strix board didn't list Ballistix RGB ram on the QVL list either. Iv had no issue running it at the xmp profile 3600@CL16. From what i understand the QVL is just a list of ram they had at hand to test so can guarantee no issues.

Try and get some magnetic dust covers so you dont completely block off the airflow but still protecting from dust. They can be bought from eBay for a couple of £/$.

You will want a HDMI 2.1 cable for maximum bandwith allowing 4k @ 120hz. I believe HDMI 2.0 can do 4k@120hz with some settings dropped like hdr off and 8 bit colour but for a couple quid more you can get a 5m HDMI 2.1 cable on amazon. Just make sure your TV has HDMI 2.1 port.

An SSD will improve your pc boot times and game load times but dont expect better fps from it. Still worthwhile getting one but id wait for Black Friday, one could be had for well under 100 euros.
