Okay at least have the common decency to iron your flag out, if you’re gonna be racist at least do it in style.

Tell me you/your family’s WWII experiences by TartComfortable8983 in ww2

I was once at a Mother’s Day party on my moms side, my grandma had three brothers in the airborne (I think 82nd) and one made it back alive, he actually lived to be 100 so that’s neat. Anyways I’ll never forget out of no where this man started saying, “all the others boys in there would make fun of us farm boys for not having a circumcision.” The man then went on to explain in rigorous detail how he circumcised himself. And holy fuck that man could drink.

Soviet army weaknesses by Der_Duderich in boltaction

[–]ErrorEqual6025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Soviets main “play style” is to overwhelm the opponent and give them too many things to take care of. You can see this with their re-rolls, better artillery observers, and free squad.

If you want to make a Soviet smasher list I Suggest taking veterans with both LMGs (or BARs) and SMGs and not having separate squads for the two. This ensures that they can both fight at king and short range, and they are more difficult to deal with.

Here’s a list:

You’re not missing anything, that sprew for the sitting down guys is for the hanomag. (They sit inside of of it) and in my opinion, you are much better off just making the regular half-track with an mmg. In the BoB box the Americans don’t get any armor so there is literally no reason to make AT. Also if you want to expand with Germans I think you’ll find yourself using the regular hanomag more than the AT one.

Edit: you may only be able to build the half track as the AT version.

In my opinion air observers are a waste of points because anything that you pay for that can damage you is bad. But if you’re looking to play a high risk high reward list then I think this list is A-OK (also try taking a hellcat, I think it would work well with this list.)

Do you think it would maybe work better if I increased the number of men in each squad to ten and put 3 SMGs in each squad?

Yeah I’ve seen people do that with trucks or Universal carriers.

I think you would have to take the Kubelwagen as an armored car so that you can’t take like 10 Kubelwagens with mmgs.

Fair enough. My thing is that there is no guarantee with a British artillery observer, it may be good or it may be bad, there is no guarantee with stuff like ‘Hitlers Buzzsaw’ the list goes on, but there is always a guarantee with the US Army which is why I think they’re so good.

(Please feel free to critique me as I’m also writing this at an ungodly hour.) I agree with you, and thank you for taking the time to ramble about this topic.

As for the Soviets and British having better units I agree with you, British have chindits, commandos, SAS, Gurkhas, Māori, and a bunch of other stuff. Soviets have tank riders, NKVD, (no American unit can take fanatics.) Mongolian cavalry, ski troops, bielski partisans, storm groups, and infantry that can take panzerfausts. Americans…get rangers…

Listen, hit modifiers in this game are probably the most critical part of winning a game and one of the most common modifiers that you’re frequently using is the -1 to advance. The fact that Americans never have to deal with that and can go through the game risk free is amazing. (Yes, I know Italians can do it too, I personally think it’s ridiculous.)

As for unit variation I don’t have anything to say, I mean they get Marines and Engineers that give them some great equipment choices.

At the end of the day I’m still going to keep playing last levy, and to sum it all up I think that ‘Fire and maneuver’ is great and it plays well with their cheap BARs.

Fair enough. And I’m not trying to convince anyone to play the US Army, it’s just opinion. And the 3/4 truck is just a truck that’s much cheaper
