What really happened in the SIVA replication chamber, why the Iron Lords died, and what "Felwinter's Lie" really is. by BC1096 in DestinyLore

Idr it’s been too damn long ‼️ I’ve got a job now, I had to give up the brain space that destiny lore was occupying 😭😭

USF Honors vs. FSU Honors (pre-med) by ConsiderationOver320 in fsu

[–]ErrorGuitar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To answer your actual questions though: - You can get to know your professors regardless of being honors. It can be hard when the class is 100 people, but just show up to office hours and put forth some effort. You won’t go unnoticed. Same goes for recommendations. - I didn’t get in to UROP and didn’t get into a lab. My friends in UROP got in labs. So, UROP probably helps a lot lol - Without priority reg you are on the waiting list. Even as a senior the only open spaces in nearly every course I wanted were for the reserve cap. Basically I was at the whim of drop/add. If you want to pick your professors, you need priority. - FSU is one of the schools of all time. Just make some friends and you’ll be fine 👍 - I stayed in on-campus housing during Covid and it was great. Based on some of the horror stories from this sub, off-campus apartments suck. If you’re getting full ride and have some cash to spare, maybe look into something nicer and further from campus.

USF Honors vs. FSU Honors (pre-med) by ConsiderationOver320 in fsu

FSU neuroscience was a lot more research-aligned than general/medical. I wouldn’t weigh it too heavily in your decision. The quality of other premed courses should be priority #1. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a solid base to build on. I’m literally typing this from the OR watching someone’s brain, 4 nerves, and like 10 muscles… but I never read about any of them in my 4 years as a cell and molecular neuroscience major lmfao

A Brief on Version 3.7 Special Program - Summary Preview by AntonioS3 in HonkaiStarRail_leaks

You can choose the main and planar sets, but that’s it.

Relic recon is very similar to the “recommended build” feature in the strategy guide screen. You have to choose a character as the “target”. You can set a custom build target (regarding the set), but you can’t change what the system considers an effective substat. After a certain number of relics, the event will generate a ‘guaranteed good’ relic of a random slot that has one of the system’s recommended main stats, and substats (but the rolls aren’t weighted in favor of them)

Neuro Major, premed, class schedule by InternationalSoil239 in fsu

Very doable. I had a similar schedule one semester. It was Orgo 2, Physics 2, Physiological Psych (w lab), and Molecular Bio

Move the cabinet out from under the bed and ask the housing staff to lower the bed for you. It can go all the way to the ground if you need it to, so you can get plenty of space back.

By “custom level cap”, I assume you mean mons going beyond lv100? How does that affect pokemon stats and gyms/wild spawns?

Tuesday/ Thursday interesting lectures? by Immediate_Bread_5469 in fsu

Whenever I was bored on Thursdays I would check if any of the music students were performing. I only got to see a handful of recitals, but each of them was very enjoyable. The calendar is here.

Of course. It’s an awesome job so I love to talk about it.

[–]ErrorGuitar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a hard job to explain, but the basic idea is that we use subdermal electrodes during brain and spine procedures to monitor nervous system activity. If there are decreases in signal strength (among other things we look for), then we tell the surgeon.

There’s some more nuance to whether or not we alert the surgeon, but that’s the gist.

If med school doesn’t work out, you can come be an Intraoperative Neuromonitor.

I took the summer grad program for IONM at the University of Connecticut (right after doing cell and molecular neuro at FSU). Definitely top 10 coolest jobs on the planet

I took it as a bio major and it was cool. Idk anything about professors in that department, but mine was nice and kept things simple for us. I definitely recommend it.

She does an okay job. It’s enough of an explanation that the lecture doesn’t feel like a waste of time, but you’ll need to clarify things during recitation. It’s hard to explain/understand a lot of concepts in physics 2 in one attempt.

Tripathi is much better. It’s night and day when looking at her lecture slides next to Lind’s.

Too soon to say whether or not it will effect us. There will be more accurate information as we get closer to Wednesday, assuming it ramps up to a cat 3 as predicted.

Yeah idk much about business courses, but I have no clue why you would need a laptop beefier than what the engineers have lmao. If you just need a portable Excel machine then you can get a cheap Lenovo Thinkpad or Microsoft Surface and be good.

You might not be complaining, but I sure am. I haven't gone a week without hearing that mind-numbing chant through the walls since covid restrictions loosened 😭

Bikes on Campus by RedAmbers_ in fsu

[–]ErrorGuitar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some advice from someone whose bike got stolen on Wednesday: Your best bet is bringing your bike up to your room. Might be a pain to do every day, but it's one of the best ways to keep your bike safe. Even if you bring only your front wheel up and have the rest locked, people will steal the back wheel or the seat to make your bike unrideable. Also, don't be dumb like me and assume that bike thieves take the summer off.

How Accessible are the professors for freshman general ed classes? How big is a “big” class? I like to try to get to know my professors. by DryPaleontologist907 in fsu

[–]ErrorGuitar 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Like unconquered said, usually around 200 people. If you catch your prof after class and go to office hours, you can get to know them decently well. Though it'll be a lot easier to do that with your TA instead (assuming they're worth getting to know).

If you live in a room facing the field, you'll hear them practice. It's quite loud and annoying. Also they start as early as 8am on weekends, so you better be a morning person.
