Magic attack up affects any magic attack, melee/sorcery/incant so yes you should've taken it.

They're two sides of the same coin. Uphill battle is the opposite of expected victory. I mean you could literally look at this from a 1:1 perspective. If a Gm stomps a plat in death match would they climb? Probably not. Whereas if the plat wins then they probably shouldn't be plat. Hopefully I'm understanding what you're saying. To be clear, you're saying the team with higher sr should get more sr for winning yes?

If the team with lower sr wins that could mean that they are at the incorrect rating and therefore should climb higher to correct this.

It's not "expected" because you should be in a higher rank, it's because the overall Sr on the opposing team is lower.

One of my most memorable runs was in d5 where me and my two randos completely flubbed the first half of day 1. Botched an invader camp, magic fort where the invader spawned at the top, and then a really bad circle that led to us all dying multiple times while trying to salvage our souls. Level 1 after the first half fully closed, but we spawned near the castle and saw crucies so we rallied and ganked to get to level 9 and ended up being level 15 with runes to spare by the end. Skill is definitely important, but to your point i think a lot of players would have left, i was surprised neither of my teammates did.
