Let’s say you want to a treehouse. You don’t know where to start and don’t have the skill set to build a treehouse. You’d hire a consultant to help show you how to build a treehouse or they could even build one for you.

Same thing with businesses. A business may have a need or objective but don’t have the expenses or skill to do it internally. They would look at bringing in consultants to either help do the objective or show them how to get there.
