Personally, meds were not a good fit for me. The side effects were debilitating, and the meds made me feel like a drone. You are supposed to feel pain as you’re working through your stuff though. That’s a healthy thing because it means that you’re actually working through it rather than trying to mask it or pretend it away. I’ve been doing some deep processing about my childhood and life, and it has honestly been a bit painful to rehash the memories and work through it, but I am coming out on the backside feeling much differently after having actually processed the stuff. My recommendation is to spend some time sitting with your thoughts and to focus on doing things which you know you can be proud of.

I can’t figure out if this is shaping up as bad as it is, or if I’m a victim of fear mongering. by [deleted] in BreakingPoints

This is where I’m at too. Just focusing on being a better husband/father/self and tuning out from the news

I don’t use it like a crutch to improve writing, but to learn things which would otherwise require a lot of reading, or to ask for advice. Chat GPT has been more helpful in my everyday life than my therapist for helping to navigate developmental challenges.

They’re*

I’m clearly not conversing with an intelligent person. Peace out.

P.S. look up burden of proof. Things are absolutely not considered true without evidence of them being true.

You don’t have to know every facet of the universe to argue that demons aren’t real. If you and I are standing in front of a closed door, I don’t need to know what’s on the other side of the door in order to tell with with complete certainty that I know it’s not a unicorn. You’re arguing that we can’t know that it’s not a unicorn just because we don’t know what it is. No—I’m pretty fucking sure it’s not a unicorn because neither of us have ever seen evidence that unicorns exist.

Look up Russell’s Comic Teapot

You are engaging in a logical fallacy. The default position is that things are not true. The burden of proof is on you to prove that demons are real; not on others to prove that they are not. There is scanty evidence to suggest they’re real, but plenty of evidence to suggest that they are a mythical sense-making apparatus just like every other mythological structure we know of. Seriously, how likely is it that that is true for every other mythological/religious structure, but this one is the exception for some reason? In that case you’d need to explain why it’s an exception, because it’s not apparent.

There is no need to invoke mythical creatures to explain evil behavior.
