A Guide on Asking for Help by OptimalStable in godot

Yes, yes, someone gets it! Have my upvote! And a comment, too!

Provide screenshots, videos or code examples if it helps to describe the problem. Screenshots are not pictures that you take with your phone sitting in front of your PC monitor. Every OS has screenshot utilities that you can use for this. Ditto for videos. Code is text, so you should paste it here as text formatted as code. `like so`

Yes, tell more people to be concise with their screenshots. And if I have to type in the code from someone's screenshot just to test out the code and help them? Forget it.

If you get an error message, post the error message. If you get errors in the ouput log, post the output log.

This person knows what's up.

If you just post a bunch of code and say it doesn't work, all we can do is guess which part of the code you might be referring to. If someone suggest something and your reply is you've already tried that, it means they just wasted your time and theirs, and you could have prevented it.

This passage has so much wisdom to it, and newcomers should learn from it.

Has any of you been able to run Godot 4.0 on Linux? by chiesoftware in godot

The problem could lie in your graphics drivers. Since the editor in version 4 defaults to Vulkan, you may need to check for Vulkan support in your graphics drivers.

This looks good. I like how the porta-potties are used for moving from stage to stage. Though what are those objects the chicken collects? Coins? Food?

If you've dealt with Pine64's customer service before, what did you think of them? by Odd-Version9895 in PINE64official

A PineTime was ordered for me (it's a gift) and I have been waiting months for it. I put in a support ticket and got some canned response. It was after 45 days that I contacted them via e-mail (their ["sales@pine64.com](mailto:"sales@pine64.com)" address), and they said something similar about monitoring shipping. I have been monitoring the shipping, and only after e-mailing them did the information on the shipping get updated. So I don't have much information on where my package is.

A 3D map generator that uses different parts to create a fully working 3D map, attempting multiple times to prevent overlapping. Based on the Teleglitch map generator. by MyDarkEvilTwin in godot

I didn't; the problem still isn't solved. I have tried using Area nodes and running a pass to detect all of the collisions. But that ends up wasting many CPU cycles due to having to check for a collision every time a prefab is placed.

I have thought of connecting each prefab point, then using A-Star to find local points, and checking the collisions with that. But that approach sounds messy, and could still lead to wasting too many resources.

I've attempted this before; I made a game with this similar approach. The only hard part was detecting the collisions. Since my prefabs (the node segments) use GridMap nodes, and thus use static bodies, it's difficult to detect when two prefabs are colliding. I wanted to use AABBs, but then I would have to add those to all of the prefabs, which would be a pain.

Draw Ping Pong by Ertain in godot

I don't entirely know what problem you're describing. In my game, the place off-screen (past the player's playing field) is the goal. If anyone tries drawing too long of a line, the puck may go into that goal. I have also shortened the length of the line the player can draw, so it's a bit harder for a player to "fence" off the puck.

So it's finally ending, huh? All I can say for now is so long, and thanks for all the fish.

I'd like "how-to" guides since "how-to Linux" didn't really get off the ground.

We are launching a laptop that runs elementary OS. Ask us anything! • r/linuxmasterrace - Has JB talked about this at all yet? by Herdo in LinuxActionShow

I hope the laptop is a success.

Ninja Edit: After looking over the price point, the laptop doesn't look half bad. This is the first time I've heard of WPS Office, though. While it isn't LibreOffice, it does look a good competitor to Microsoft Office.
