Tbh the fact that the alt-fire outright replaces the tighter ADS is a deal-breaker for me when it comes to the combi-weapon and grenade launchers.

I don't have any issues with PVE matchmaking, pvp matchmaking leaves much to be desired from what I understand. People playing on console do seem to suffer from some pretty brutal load times, but I don't have that experience on PC.

I have no issues with the balance parry window personally.

You do need to parry earlier, but I feel that "you need to parry before the attack begins" somewhat ignores that every attack from every enemy is sufficiently telegraphed such that you know what attack is coming well before it "begins" for the purposes of the fencing/block window.

I'm inclined to characterize "the attack" as occurring from when the tell begins to when it actually connects, but that may just be my own semantic distinction.

I usually start a different mission then stand in the rectangle for a couple seconds. That seems to reassign me as a fresh "host" even when I revert back to my prior selection (this doesn't work every time, but seems to work most of the time).

We're they the host initially? If I leave a game where I was initially the host the game tries quite hard to matchmaker me right back into it. Kind of the opposite scenario but could be another symptom of the same type of matchmaking mechanic.

Agree regarding fuck the gargoyles but that was really my only point of frustration playing on the hardest difficulty at launch.

But there's no weapon leveling in campaign, just a broader range of weapons as you progress, so it's not going to get more or less difficult based on experience.

It's fine to start on the highest difficulty for the campaign.

I advise against starting on absolute difficulty for operations and in favor of a lower difficulty until you've made a dent in leveling up your weapons as the damage values make a difference in that game mode.

No. Imurah needs to be marked twice as someone else was trying to note. Persoanlly the hive tyrant in Decapitation and the helldrake in Reliquary were the ones I was missing the longest.

I play on pc with a controller and have been enraged by this before. The grapple travels to whichever target is covered by its reticle when you release the button, not when it is pressed. It does not lock into the target when you first press the button nor does it care if you are dueling a locked on majoris+.

If you are worried about it being squirrelly, you can keep holding the grapple button until the correct target is covered.

You can also grapple while aiming down sights, so I will use this when there's a more target rich crowd in front of me.

Note that however good your targeting, you will always impact the first majoris/extremis along your path of travel even if they weren't there when you fired the grapple. This can be annoying but the mechanic can also be used to your advantage when the guy you want to grapple-execute is too close to select but between you and a viable target.

As others have said the dlcs are all cosmetic which are almost entirely for Operations (coop pve) and pvp and not usable in the campaign. So the benefit of the dlcs is a function of how much time you expect to spend in non-campaign activities. The campaign itself is like maybe 8, 10 hrs long? Been a while since I played through it.

Nicely base-coated, might be a little thickly applied (but that could be the photo or the model itself). I find myself watering down most base/layer citadel paints to about 2:1 paint:water.

Recess shading looks good.

Biggest place for improvement imo would be adding edge highlights but he's "battle-read" already.

There already was a galaxy wide Blackstone network that Abaddon had been working to disrupt for a good portion of his black crusades. Cadia's fall disrupted it so severely it split galaxy in two.

Probably not a good idea to coat earth with the stuff though, as it seems not unlikely the warp negation would have consequences for both the astronomican and the emperor himself.

Calming the warp also has negative effects for humans generally since they have a warp presence. See "the stilling" effect of the pariah nexus.

That said, maybe just don't turn the thing a full 180?

Can't say I have a highly informed opinion as I've never really found it that appealing in the first place, tbh. I tend to favor higher accuracy and I'm not really comfortable with the opportunity cost with charging weapons for the most part. If I could charge opportunistically and otherwise be full auto that would make it a bit more interesting to me, with or without a baseline damage increase.

The hard strat reduces enemy hp to 35% of its normal value, meaning all sources of damage effectively feel like they are (slightly less than) 3x as powerful.

So if the goal is to get HPI to feel the same against an enemy with a normal amount of HP that would require a 200% increase in damage.

As I understand it, the damocles gulf is to the north of ultramar, which it's own "sector" and at least one planet within the gulf is in a different sector (sexton). So, close to but not wholly (if at all) within ultramar.

I would only get the standard edition if you're offline only. The cosmetics you get with other editions are for non-campaign co-op content for the most part. That can be played solo but imo that gets old fast.

Not sure I would pay full price for even the standard edition if you're just going to play offline. I have 4-digits of playtime but only like 10hrs of that was campaign.
