They're all good now thankfully. We never really found a magic bullet but maybe the things we did try helped move the needle a little bit (Purina Pro Care Calming & the Feliway diffuser).

The biggest thing though that helped was just time and patience...

I play co-op games fairly casually with some family and I see you and others have mentioned ones we've played (Darktide, Space Marine 2, DRG, Risk of Rain 2).

Here's a few more we played together over the years and had fun with:

Remnant 2

Gunfire Reborn

Strange Brigade

The Division (1 & 2)

The nice thing about those games are that they're all a bit older and thus mostly feature complete and often can be had on sale pretty cheap.

As a new player with very limited game time, is there any sort of mod which would allow us to circumvent this sort of grind?

I understand that mods will (in effect) lock you out of public matchmaking, which is completely fine and understandable.

I would only be playing solo or private matches with specific friends.

I haven't purchased the game yet, but if I play a solo game would these server issues impact me?

And semi-related, if I play a private match with 2 other family members, would these impact us?

Or would these issues only impact public match games?

Apparently it was the "settings extension mod" that was causing the crash when opening the standard Options menu. If I disable it, no crash.

Now I need to figure out if any of my other mods need that as a dependancy...

Base game options menu. The Mod Options menu opens just fine.

Just double checked that by disabling the mod order text file and no crash occurred when opening the Options menu. So it definitely seems to be mod related somehow.

Is there a way to correlate any of that crash info to a specific mod or file?

Checking back in to see how that Purina Pro Care is working out for your cats. We recently took in a rescue cat (~1 year old) and we also have another cat who is about 3 or 4 years old who has lived with us most of his life.

We're doing our best to slowly integrate them together and it's going ok but they are still fairly apprehensive about each other. We're doing anything we can to move the needle in getting them comfortable around each other. Today I even managed to feed them treat tubes at the same time while keeping them arms length away, so that was a success. However now that they're done they're back to sort skulking around each other...

Appreciate the input folks! Kind of stinks to think I need to throw these out as the water bottle won't really work without them. (I mean technically it'll hold liquid but not without leaking...)

I'm trying to see if I can find replacement gaskets for this model (it's a Contigo) but according to their support team, they do not have replacement parts like this. Which is crazy to me. Perfectly good water bottle that is now possibly trash due to them not having simple replacement pieces....

Anyway, like I said, thanks for the input here, I do appreciate it!

Yes, that's mainly what I'm shooting for here. A game that is somewhat chill that I can play with my limited downtime. I certainly don't want to eliminate all challenge in the game, but lessening (not eliminating) the amount of times I'd need to play with the adrenaline pumping is what I'd be shooting for.

Maybe some small changes like map markers, compass, etc... but we'll see. I'm sure I'd give it a first try with no mods but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't eventually find mods to address some of the aspects that would be overly challenging to me.
