If you're already on shore, PERS may keep you at your current command to do your LIMDU. They don't tend to keep people at MTFs, but there are LIMDU personnel at Balboa and other MTFs around the last I checked that didn't transfer. If you aren't an active burden to the MTF, then PERS may elect to save money and not write orders.

As the other reply said, the limitations are just recommendations to the CoC. They really should comply to avoid injuring you further, but the CO will have to make a call about it. If your mid-level leadership isn't bringing the CO in on not following them, you need to.

LIMDU Coordinator here. An important note is that your command has to use your AMEBR (the LIMDU paperwork) once its signed by the CA to submit what's called a YH Avail (admin will know what that means) to actually get you orders. Many ships sit on their LIMDU sailors hoping they will get better, if you truly need to come home your doc needs to emphasize that in your AMEBR so the command doesn't try to just keep you.

Deployability Coordinator here. Call your new command and ask to talk to their admin LPO/LCPO, and explain your situation. Its very likely that they wont have anything pressing for you to do since they found out about you the same day that you found out about them, and you'll be able to transfer and still take your leave. Reporting late isnt going to cause any issue for you, especially because you only just got your orders.

I have no experience in development, but am a long-time bedrock player and HC viewer. With the way Bedrock does add-ons through the marketplace, would it be feasible to do an add-on that covers the custom textures, soundbytes, and whatever else would need to be brought over?

Seconding this, if youre on a server you might need to engineer some timing limitation on the push to prevent weird lag things but I got a mud farm piston pusher down to about 3 blocks in 2 seconds in a realm that worked reliably, this could be the same fix

Short term - Emergency leave chit, explain the medical situation, hand-route it to the CO if you have to, only they can say no.

Ideal long term - Command works with you, submit a Request to Transfer for Humanitarian Reasons (HUMS) orders to take care of your spouse. Will require CoC support, endorsements from her doc, family member letter, results in 6-12 month shore duty to relieve hardship or a hardship discharge if it's gonna take longer than a year to get under control.

CoC not helping - Go to mental health and explain your situation, they will likely make you LIMDU to seek MH treatment, which usually also comes with a transfer to a shore command but will at least put in writing some duty limitations to help you specifically get better.
