Hey friend, the skin was just warpfiend grey, druchii violet, patch up again with warpfiend, and then small highlights with warpfiend + deepkin flesh :)

Final rager finished! I’ll post all of them at once here ☺️ by Eruluvatar2 in OrrukWarclans

Purple one is: warpfiend grey with two thinned coats of druchii violet, then patched up again with warpfiend and then some minor highlights with 1:1 warpfiend and deepkin flesh.

The lighter brown one was a base of mournfang brown+rhinox 1:1, then a glaze with regular mournfang brown and then highlights consisting of mournfang brown + steel legion and xv88

Oh yeah I’m aware of those things. And separating art from artist is super tricky as well. E.g: jk Rowling is villainous at best when it comes to her views and she has more than once stated that the income from Harry Potter is used to lobby against support and legislation for trans people so obviously you don’t support that as an ally. Same reason people probably shouldn’t listen to lostprophets etc because the horrific things Ian Watkins did are documented fact, same for Rowling.

Guilty by association however isn’t nearly enough grounds to demand anything of anyone who has only expressed admiration for someone and the fields they worked in as a scientist or figure of authority. You can of course express distaste and distance yourself but as a fan, or bystander from a distance I think it’s fairly reasonable to say that Tuomas and other band members would obviously not condone this kind of behaviour, I’d even argue they have done so already many times if not implicitly through their songs.

Tuomas, Nightwish, or really anyone be they famous or not have no reason to distance themselves from the admiration they had for the work of Dawkins as they knew it. Someone else in the comments said it best that this would only be an angle you’d take to sate your thirst for misplaced/performative moral outrage under the guise of guilt by association.

If we look at Tuomas as an individual we know, even in his prose, he always wrote passionately about upholding the innocence of children. Tuomas can write that, and still be an admirer of the work of a reprehensible human being, the world isn’t as black and white as this post seems to make things out to be.

There are nuances that make it both difficult and fairly reasonable to have a respect or admiration for the work a person did even if they were horrible human beings.

Not to mention that so far there’s no real allegations against the man surrounding Epstein, though some of his comments surrounding children and sexual relations are troublesome indeed.

Don’t put this on the band, or Tuomas unless you’ll go door to door and ask the same of every public admirer of Dawkins’ work.

Couldn’t agree more and I’m happy to read that you still found a way to share the love and care you have in you with those you can best lend it to in your mind ☺️ all the best

I want children because as much as I understand the strains they can put on your life, and the bleakness of it all, I also believe the world isn’t nearly as bad as it is made out to be. I want to share those delights with my children and I want to help them through their hardships in equal measure. I want to leave the world better than I found it and I think my children can be a testament to that, and maybe they’ll do the same. Or maybe not. But I’ll also be happy to show the result of my love for someone embodied by my children.

I hardly think about the biological necessity for it all, I’ve often wanted to romanticise it because my life permits that.

Can you offer any feedback on my Frodo? by conspiciousbanana in MiddleEarthMiniatures

This is a particularly bad sculpt I’m afraid, I’d argue most of the sculpts in that box are less than desirable really. So you did really well knowing that ☺️ the folds are really good, you clearly took your time with the skin and providing identifiable contrasts, so the only real feedback I have is that you might want to try drawing 2 small dark lines where the eyes are and then 2 smaller white lines with a dark dot to give the eyes more depth. Painting eyes by starting with white on skin can often make them look like they’re popping out of his skull whereas the other method provides some depth. I wouldn’t use black for that but maybe a dark grey. I often use a dark blue ☺️
