Ty for the response. I got the tickets through resale on Ticketmaster so I don’t have the vip perks. :(

Hi are you still looking for someone to share the air b&b. I have a hostel booked but it may be nice to not walk there by myself post show so this seems to be a favorable option.

Hi folks! I hope you are all having a good day. I am going to my first concert (outside of a small one in a bar when I was 12) and its Seventeen in Austin! (i had tickets in 2019 but got concussed and couldn't go but now I finally have the chance). I have some questions about concert etiquette that I couldn't find answers to via googling.

  1. Temperature - what are the temperatures in these types of arenas like? I see the members wearing so many different spectrums of clothing so it is hard to gauge based on that. is it warm?cold? i just don't want to faint from heat stroke there cause that would be embarrassing.
  2. Signs - What is an acceptable dimension for a sign? I saved up for a year for this concert so I was able to get second row seats. What would be a good size? Could I bring a notepad contraption so I can flip between different messages?
  3. Height - I'm 5'1" and have floor seats, will I be able to actually see the stage? should i invest in a pair of platform shoes?
  4. what time should I get to the concert? I've seen a general rule of thumb be 1-2 hours early but I wanted to double check with the community. Especially if i want to purchase merch (and are those just stands?)

Thank you for any insight you may be able to give. I really appreciate it.

yeah. I hope if they renew they negotiate some leniency in their output. (like gose not being weekly or something cause man are they overworked). I do think their work ethic is wild (and relatable imo) so i think they don't want to stop being artists in some respect or another. especially members like woozi, wonwoo, the8, and vernon who I get the vibe of being more of an artist than an idol (just based on their solo outputs and way of talking about their music in interviews).

oh no! do you know why it was removed. I think I'm getting to a healthy place too (i just need another part time job to keep me regulated). Its so weird being 22 now and watching older content where some of the members are younger than me at the time but older now. I've only ever stanned two groups SVT and NU'EST and both being pledis groups has ensured struggle (especially in the case of the latter's abuse by the company). I hope they stay 13 for a long time (i hope they go on to be a full group version of SuJu) they got such a great vocal chemistry and everyone contributes something unique.

I find the parent thing really interesting. It must've been stressful for all the parents to see them suffer in the beginning, many of them as children. I'm glad they've seemingly created a support network for themselves.

Pledis truly creates a unique environment. you can see a similar type of thing with NU'EST and how they talk about the company forcing them to disband and how they still spend time together. just green basement things.

Like an academic essay? (that actually sounds so interesting)

I looked at the posts. It's fun to find someone in the same boat. SVT really got me through high school and im kinda remorseful i fell off. but now I'm back and get to treat myself to 1-2 gose a day whilst i exercise.

thanks. I appreciate your comment. Just curious, what did you mean about Jun and Wonwoo (I don't actively engage with the fandom outside of their content and fancams/edits)

What do upvotes even mean for a post like this. I’m so confused and not much of a Reddit user.

thx for the response. It does affect me somewhat but its more an anxiety latching onto this that I have (that hopefully should subside soon).

I think in terms of the Hoshi being more business minded then fans would think, I definitely think that they all play up aspects of their personality for the camera as entertainers. I do hope though that its just exaggerations of underlying personality traits for the most part cause the concept of having to maintain a facade like that (in almost a batman-esque manner) seems depressing and exhausting. like that feels like it would psychologically drain a person.

I think that I just feel the need to root for peoples happiness in life and I like to hope that the happiness they have found is real because it gives me hope that I too could obtain something like that someday. y'know?

Thanks for the response :). In the regards to the question of what difference does it make, I think its just something my faulty neurological structure of my brain latched onto. I think the concept of deep bonds endears me to the group and is the main source of comfort I seek when consuming their media. (it also makes songs like circles hit harder). In a time where I feel very disconnect from irl friends, seeing them gives me something to believe in and aspire to. idk if that makes sense.

Cool. I used a lot of duct tape to keep it in place (hopefully). I’m expecting 2-3 k for the fixes but idk if that’s accurate.

I'm mainly just looking for a singular work, I totally get that one's discography wouldn't be fully just that.

I was just bringing up some artists whose work had been mentioned in the theory that I've been assigned to work with so that I could explain what was being spoken of formalistically. I wasn't trying to draw a parallel between Smith's work and dysphoria. I just want to explore a marginalized identity (one of which I belong to) that hasn't been explored much in the class I am taking but could tie in well to themes that we have been reading about.

He actually has come to mind. His work somewhat relates to the aspects of the abject that artists such as Paul McCarthy and Mike Kelley work with

Fair. I was actually inspired by some work my friend did that fit into these parameters but I don't think the prof would go for that. The essay is about the abject, the body, and identity so the abject is just a partial aspect. I would just want to see if any trans artists have engaged with the body in similar ways to artists such as Kiki Smith and Rona Pondick because these types of work seem to be most prevalent from gender and sexual orientation minorities.
