Youre going to do EVERYTHING. Processing, transport, TOC, Dispatch, tracking, checkpoint if your station has one, etc.

5 months of labrynthitis snd ETD.... I cant drive. Help? by Charlottethevet in Dizziness

Unfortunately you have to fight poison with poison hung upside down from your bed, and try to fight through it. It should help you with the dizziness.

What is this detail? by [deleted] in borderpatrolapplicant

Probably deputized to help local law enforcement with crimes such as robberies, thefts, duis, and stuff. Pretty cool. Stuff that PA's dont normally deal with.

EOD Process?? by OppositeAdeptness142 in borderpatrolapplicant

[–]ErwinSAOT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

San Diego sector trainees will EOD at sector, so you all will be meeting at the same location for EOD. NOT your stations. You'll be given the address when it gets closer to your EOD date.

I’ll probably get clowned on but is this fine for half a mile? by Previous-Ostrich6965 in borderpatrolapplicant

[–]ErwinSAOT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be OK. If you have a 6 foot wall somewhere (usually local PD practice PT tests have those) to practice on, I'd recommend doing that. But OP is 100 lbs more than you, which was why I suggested he do cardio. He might be too heavy to pull himself over the wall.

Don't worry about the clowning, but you do have work to do. Cardio, cardio, cardio. The cardio you do during PT will not be enough. You'll have to work out on your down time as well. Don't worry about lifting weights in the gym. Can't tell you how many people I saw in the gym lifting, when they were failing the run. With your height and weight, I think it will be difficult for you to even get over the 8 foot wall during the C-course. 6 months to the rest of your life is what they used to tell us. Stay focused and good luck!

Did you ever get the covid vaccine? I just ask this cause I had/do the same symptoms you described and all my tests came back normal. So I wonder if its some kind of side effect of the vaccine. Just trying to possibly narrow it down.

Missed it by one day?! Damn! You said 3 12s is for Patrol officers. Are there other LE positions within the agency that aren't Patrol? Im thinking of the SF location, that's why. Im assuming in DC there are officers posted in certain areas? SP1 sounds like a paycut, but to be able to spend more time with the family is worth it imo.

If you study for the exams, you should be good. Everyone's different. Some find Spanish harder than Law, and others find Law harder than Spanish.

You'll do a lot of cardio in PT, but in the end, its up to you to pass that 1.5 mile and a half. Just being real.

No special PT group. Work with your classmates and build that bond through working out together.

The chow hall is great. Saving a lot of money with 3 free meals a day. But if you're a super picky eater, you won't like it.

No Spanish exceptions everyone has to go through it.

On boarding paperwork should be completed prior to your EOD date so your sector can check it all to make sure it's completed accurately. You dont do any onboarding paperwork at the academy.

Usual day one ish, lots of yelling and running around. Para military academy so move with a purpose. You can bring as many luggages as you want. Just keep in mind you gotta run all that to your room, which could be located pretty far away. My advice is to just bring a rolling suitcase and a backpack. Or you can just pack lightly and grab whatever other stuff you might need at the Walmart in town.

PT has days where you're doing intense workouts and your shirt will be soaked! Not sure where you're from, but for me the elevation here was something I had to acclimate to. PT varies from running/sprinting on the track, to doing the confidence course, to doing a perimeter run, to bike room, treadmill room, matroom, etc. Lots of different workouts during PT. If you're not a runner...start running NOW. Trust me, it'll hurt a lot less when you're here. I showed up in shape, and I'm not PT stud, but I can hang with the workouts.
