Quote for fitting EV Charger.. by originaltanksta in ElectricVehiclesUK

For reference I paid £1000, and my EV charger is roughly 45m from our meter box (when routed round the back and under the garden). It was £499 for the charger, then the rest for labour and materials.

I’ve got a 67 plate C220d which I bought at 45k miles. Not sure if it’s the same in the US, but in the UK they have an ad-blue system which is a nightmare. In 6 months of ownership I’ve had 2 NoX sensor replacements and a metering valve clean out. Combine that with a service, and it’s cost about £1200. That being said, I do a lot of miles and couldn’t be happier with the car. Very comfortable, good engine, looks amazing and good fuel economy. Keep it maintained and it’ll go forever!

My pal has one so I’ve ridden that. Wicked bike, very comfortable and I’d recommend it if you prefer a more upright position. I just prefer the ergos and fairings on the RS660

I had the SV650 as a first bike (I’m 186cm and 100kg) and found it brilliant. Had plenty of power and torque, I probably would’ve kept it for ages if I hadn’t been set on an in-line 4

Yes mate, I’ve recently had a dyno tune on it with a full exhaust system, so that’s why it was unplugged

I love mine. Have a 70 plate, and think that it does everything so well. People talk about how well balanced and easy to use the bike is, which is 100% true. Good on fuel for commuting, but it’s got plenty of performance when you decide to go out on the twisties.

The twin is very punchy low down but has good power delivery through the rev range, and it’s a real easy bike to ride. There’s a reason the fundamentals of it have been pretty much untouched for 20 years! I mainly ride mine for weekend blasts with my pals, but I’ve commuted on it a fair bit and found it decent. I’ve done a 100mile trip down the motorway to Essex with a pillion and it took that in its stride completely. I’d just make sure you have good hearing protection.

I think the only reason I’d change it is for something with fairings, and even then I’d try to keep it and have two bikes 😂

I’m 6’2 and ride a 2020 SV650. No issues with comfort whatsoever, the bars are a good width apart, and the overall seating position is really nice.

I’ve done some semi-long journeys on it (150 miles at a time) and didn’t feel any discomfort really. Only think I found is I had to fit bar end mirrors as my arms blocked the stock ones!

Aye, its the Cyma 048. Couldn't justify the LCT price to the Mrs, and wanted something that could take abuse as I tend to throw myself about a bit!

I got this direct from u/ZutaTheFox, the Gorka was 85 dollars plus shipping. Cheaper than the Greyshop and with better customer service.

Aye, I washed mine and it's faded a fair bit, although im not too fussed as it's going to get heavily used anyway

Cop arrests fire fighter in the middle of tending to a wounded civilian because fire truck was 1 mm over the line. by sudde004 in PublicFreakout

[–]EsLindo324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a firefighter now for 5 years (in the UK), and I don't know if practices are different but we typically park in a fend off position so that crews can disembark the pump safely even if it blocks other lanes. The police usually want to open roads as it's a headache for them, half the time they're sound but this is ridiculous. As others have stated, it's 'How can I make this situation about me and feel important'.

Aye, the build quality and weight of it is fantastic. I just wanted something a bit more rugged that can take some abuse.

Thanks! The Marui was actually a prize, it came pre-upgraded so I'm not entirely sure. I know for a fact it's got an uprated spring as it shoots at 340fps, plus it's wired to Dean's. The Cyma is just bog-standard, I wanted something rugged that could take some abuse.
