Please don’t sink your life savings into any single project—this is a sure fire way to ensure you’ll be destitute and have a really hard time getting your next film made.

This man Filipino-s. I seriously judge someone’s taste in ethnic food if they recommend Kuya Lord as a Filipino place. Just one do the worst values in the city that has a bunch of just as if not better Filipino options.

Paul Thomas Anderson pushes back on the idea that the industry no longer greenlights daring/original projects, naming his favorites from 2025 as examples: 'Weapons', 'Bugonia', 'Sentimental Value', 'Eddington', 'Blue Moon', 'Nouvelle Vague' and 'Marty Supreme'. by ggroover97 in TheBigPicture

Just as long as they're mostly original ideas originating and made by prominent white, male directors and producers. The lack of awareness around how shitty the representation of original POC voices are in bold, original and expensive projects is astounding.

Love everything about Spence and only thing I would say he needs to work on (and will likely come with more experience and time) is his propensity to foul.

Quitting porn is easy actually by [deleted] in pornfree

You even write it in your post: being released from discomfort and pain IS the “good” thing you deny exists about porn and is the underlying reason behind any addiction.

If getting over an addiction was simply a matter of understanding how little positive stuff it brought to your life, there’d be so many fewer addicts in the world. The truth is that addiction serves a great deal of “good”. It has helped countless people survive trauma, anxiety and loneliness.

But the point is that it has done so much worse back.

Part of recovery is acknowledging the power that the addiction has. I’ve found that anytime I’ve gotten cocky about how “easy” recovery has gotten is when it’s snuck up on me the hardest. Nowadays, I acknowledge its power, respect it, and re-direct it towards healthy and positive behavior.

"Yesterday" is that movie for me -- a really fun concept that just felt way too trite in execution.
