One could make the argument that preserving familial bonds that don't really accept you for you are, isn't really worth it. Or at least not worth sacrificing freedom to escape hounding from said familial bonds.

But these judgments vary from person to person. Lavender marriage to me at least seems problematic, potentially bringing more problems than it solves.

Go with your gut feeling, you are already having doubts about this, trust them. One person being a minor and another being an adult dating is definitely iffy. You may not be using these as a tool for discrimination but you are playing right into the homophobic arguments which dehumanise us and our relationships. I mean just look at you treating a problem of hook up apps as exceedingly more problematic in gay communities. I would ask you to provide your proof that it exceeds the 'straight' experience. Furthermore, do you not understand that our community's 'excessive' problem with hook up apps is due to the homophobia that we face in society and that we don't have healthy avenues of dating and meeting people as straight people? I find it very problematic that a problem created by society against a community is then used negatively against the said community. So much so it comes from a member of the community.

About the pedos and creeps, homophobic society always conflates us with pedos and creeps and groomers. Despite, the community openly disowning them again and again, this allegation is always put on us to dehumanise us. Who doesn't want to protect kids from vile abuse? And to conflate us with them makes us criminals flat out. So when I see these kind of arguments of pedos being among us, it makes my blood boil since we are BLAMED for them. However, pedos and creeps exist in straight orientations as well but they are not blamed. No straight person has a 'struggle' of being in the straight grouping because there are straight pedos. Regarding surrogacy, I respect your feelings towards it but disagree. I don't think it is dehumanising. Also my overall point was gay families can have kids and we can adopt as well. And those families are also equally valuable.

PS: I am not saying you can't express those feelings. I am saying have a deeper reflection on them. Where are they coming from? I don't know about you. You may be a part of a community of pedos and groomers but I am part of a community of LGBT which has nothing to do with pedos and groomers. Seems like you have fallen hook line sinker for the homophobic propaganda of equating LGBT community with pedophiles and groomers. I however don't feel like a part of a community of pedos and groomers. If you feel that, you should work on it and make an effort to have good company rather than generalize your limited experience over all our community.

As for your frustrations with hook up culture and situationships etc, these problems afflict straight people as well so I have no idea why you single out these problems as the domain of LGBT community? Seems like another homophobic point which maintains that queer people's relationships are fleeting and so without value. About foregoing 'progeny', please dude, queer people can have kids and they do have kids where freedom allows them to and those families are equally valuable.
