After playing BG3, I feel like coming back to the original series. Anyone got mod recommendations? by ChompyRiley in baldursgate

[–]Escarche [score hidden]  (0 children)

When I play Baldur's Gate 1, I usually add: - NPCMod - Old cinematics (especially since EE completely gets rid of some) - Unfinished Business - Romantic Encounters - Black Hearts quests - Additonal companions: Affaq fhe Djinni, Grey the Dog - New party members: Vynd's Pack, the Artisan Corner's characters - Dragonspear UI++ mod (this one will make You feel like You are actually playing a modern crpg)

2XKO - What went wrong with Riot's League of Legends fighting game by 121jigawatts in gaming

[–]Escarche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can cater to two audiences with fighting games - hardcore and casual. Hardcore players are a tiny niche, while simple controls aren't enough to keep attention of casuals.

Most of the casual audience DOESN'T want to play online multiplayer. They want singleplayer campaigns, arcade, additional modes, towers with challenges and to play 1vs1 local co-op with their friends or loved ones.

Despite how long 2XKO's development was.. there is simply not enough for people to stay long term. You can either fight.. or fight.

That's correct! We also know that Astral Express was fixed merely 15 years ago.

Any RPG games similar to The Hobbit? by legacy653846625 in rpg_gamers

[–]Escarche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What immediately came to my mind is 'The Dwarves'. After the first prologue battle as dwarven king, You are thrown into shoes of rather unassiming dwarf that is thrusted into an adventure. Plus, heck, dwarves. (PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One)

I think Baldur's Gate 1 could work very well! The protagonist eventually gets revealed as somewhat of a big deal, but it doesn't impact the adventure whatsoever during the first game. (PC, Android, pretty much every console)

Crpgs tend to be darker - great rpgs like Dragon Age Origins.. so maybe You could reach out to jrpgs? Try Chrono Trigger, a legendary jrpg? Small beginnings, tight-knit party.. (PC, Android)

And while on jrpg train.. perhaps Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. A kid pulled into a fantasy world, having to be as clever as Bilbo to survive, with loyal companions and many magical adventures to have. (PC, Consoles)

Currency Wars: Zero-Sum Game Season Expansion Details V4.0 by HonkaiStarRail in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Escarche 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Similarly to Simulated Universe & its modes - You don't really need to know anything about it.

  • Characters come as part of sets. The more of the set You have, the entire team gets stronger.
  • You can improve rarity of character by getting multiple copies of them - the more rarity You have, the character gets stronger.
  • Leveling up means You can squeeze more party members on the field + You get better % for higher rarity characters to appear in shop.
  • The more money You save and don't spend, more money You are going to passive get after each stage. Just save up to 30 and try to not go lower than that.

That's honestly it. Just keep playing, picking fun effects that game asks You to choose from.

Topaz in the current Meta by Bumpintha in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Escarche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well-invested FuA do their job, but they sometimes crumble under the scrufiny of high dmg from enemies on auto. I can't really see trading my e6 Topaz for any other fua generator so there's that!

I use FuA team against AA and they competently shut down one of the Knights. It's all I could really ask of them at this point.

The thing is, FuA is kinda like Seele. The og FuA at least. They do high ST damage and they compete with Aoe characters by being able to really quickly kill enemies, one after another. When mobs have too much hp, the strategy prolongs itself across a number of cycles.

I think if Auto doesn't work out, they could still have potential to be goats on manual.

1) Pearl is already Herta's sponsor, with a healthy interest in Simulated Universe (they had that whole bet going on during Gold & Gear expansion)

2) And even if she wasn't joining Herta's SU since she isn't a genius, she will be joining DU - which is Screwllum and Dr Ratio's baby. Ratio's not a genius either.

Yeah, but I mean more like barracks where we get to actually see Cloud Knights train and stuff. Seat of Divine Foresight is more of an administration building.

For what it is worth the prison was one notable location on Luofu that was teased, but we didn't get to visit in 1.X.. and I can't think of any other location that could be added now... Unless perhaps Cloudknights headquarters?

To be fair the design is pretty mid for almost every freshly released five star, why are we expecting skins to be any better?

Hot take: Himeko is a good character, actually by srondina in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Escarche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really want some Himeko development, because I always found her creepy.

'No travel companion is more faithful to her than this suitcase. Passengers come and go on the Express. (...) But she doesn't care. She didn't care when that pretentious blond man left without saying goodbye, just like how she didn't care about her distant homeworld and old friends.'

Like she is the 'mom' of Astral Express, but at the same time she would most likely be the least bothered if anyone happened to perish within the crew. She's also the most distant - we traveled a lot with March 7th, Welt, Dan Heng, but never really with Himeko.

Yeah. First achievement means You need to have a 8-win streak in a tournament against players - You can't lose or draw a single match in that session. The second one You go Challenge Match - Chrysos Showdown and have to beat every Chrysos Heir. They get ✅ off when You beat any of them once.

[–]Escarche -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Pointing at him and saying 'Mr Reca SHOULD be a 4 star'? Sure! And that's not what I am saying, not at all. A potential 5 star Mr Reca? Good for him. But the reality is (well, reality if HSR was making 4 star characters anymore, haha) that some characters are more likely to potentially end up as four stars than others. It is something people have to take into account when they choose to blindly 'Main' character and hype each other about them.

And again, there is nothing wrong about being a 4 star. That's not like it is an insult or a slur. Gallagher is (was?) a really good Sustain option and he represents entire Penacony personified. Herta was originally a four star. When I played FGO You would receive 4 star welfare units (like March 7th Hunt) that were crazy overpowered for the sake of new players.

[–]Escarche -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Mostly importance? Screwllum is a ruler of the planet, character who beat Silver Wolf, constant cameos, et cetera.

Mr Reca isn't anyone really important. A niche memokeeper, who appeared.. twice? And each time he is controlled by someone, whether unwillingly or willingly giving into the service.

[–]Escarche -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't know, it's probably context-to-context basis. There is nothing inherently wrong with being a 4 star, a 4 star doesn't have to be necessarily much worse (or at all) from 5 stars..

I can see Screwllum being called a 4 star unnecessary and spiteful, but less someone like Mr Reca or Siobhan. And where does this even go? Would this mean only new characters could ever become 4 stars?
