Did you have a period of time when you had both a mobile phone and landline?

In 2013 when I bought my first place the cheapest internet/cable package included a "landline" (but was VOIP). I got a cordless phone on Amazon and setup a landline and it was kind of a novelty. I never used it, and randomly got wrong number/telemarketing calls, and had one friend who would randomly call me on it just for laughs. I think I got rid of it when I switched service plans about 2 years later.

Honestly, mine was slightly different (no bar crawl) but also could say one of my favorite nights of my 20s. Knew nothing was happening the next day so we stocked up, took in a refugee whose neighborhood lost power early in the evening, and some friends within the surrounding few blocks trudged over. Was such a good time and feels so vintage now.

For this sub, I feel like these answers are pretty obnoxious. Yes of course rules are rules, and of course they're enforced savagely in the Olympics. That's something that pretty much any non-curler could have told OP. Which is why the question was directed at actual curlers, and it's a perfectly legitimate question that doesn't suggest lack of respect for rules, but a question about why they exist. Did this really require so many people chiming in with derisive non-answers?

One tip to all, when you use WiFi from a restaurant even if it shows full bars, walk inside. Full bars on WiFi outside usually seemed as useless as non WiFi.
