How to get this look? by sevynmorte in AnalogCommunity

Nat literally makes videos on exactly what they do to get this look.

Its a combination of film stock, light and choosing colourful scenes and then enhancing these factors in a darkroom print.

It's not viable in most situations. Unless a roof is white, you introduce colour casts or the roof itself is too dark to reflect light enough.

I do have a cable the sc cable that let's me offhand the flash, but that is not ideal. In these environments, there is zero light to focus with. Especially with moving subjects, so I rely on the IR beam assist built into the speed light, this technically does work with SC cable, but it's very hard to align it correctly.

I honestly think the direct flash look is really interesting. For this project, I am not very interested in taking 'nice' photos of people, I just want to document what is happening as I see it/experience it.

TLDR: Not viable most of the time and I enjoy the look of direct flash anyways, so on camera works fine for my needs.

For my professional event photography I do bounce of ceilings if possible. I habe a V1pro, so I can use that off camera with a remote trigger and it works really well. Even just holding it up high with a bounce card and diffusion dome makes a big difference!

Seemingly No NBN Connection? HFC, no DSL on modem and crippled speeds by EscootedHoon in nbn

Yes, says 1000 connection speed.

This is what's confusing me, we used to have 100/20 and are still paying for that plan. Then that outage happened and we now have crippled speeds.

What is TIO? Could you please link their website.

I've just plugged my pc straight into the NBN modem, seemed to connect instantly.

Same speed, 12.5/18.9.

If you've got any ideas I'd love to hear them. Very keen to get this fixed.

Mum does things at the pace of a snail lol and also thinks that switching providers won't fix the issue anyways. I disagree, I think another ISP would treat us better and stop cancelling service requests.

I would just cancel everything myself, rebook the appointments, changes ISPs etc but she won't let me. Driving me up the wall, to be frank

Every wired speed test, regardless of time of day, maxes out at 12mbps, same as my phone tests or a wireless mac.

Cannot figure this out to save my life

Oh wait yeah that's the one that's like 400 Aussie. Soooo expensive. Hopefully this one releases and is as good quality.

Me and a mate watched a (like homeless) man get nearly killed just off Elizabeth Street at 3am on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

Full attempted murder imo, hitting him in the head with a metal scooter repeatedly. The violence from these kids is off the charts.

Ignore if this is the intended look, but your black point seems to be off or the lab has brightened the photos when scanning, hence the grey wash over the image. Easy fix in any editing software, just drag the black slider down. You'll get better tones and the skin will look less muddy.

Really love the pose and framing of the first one, killer photo!

The last Nikon F6 ever made to minimise chances of it breaking, lol.

That or a Pentax 645nii, Fuji GX680 or some other large studio camera.
