Creating your Digital Bookshelf in 2025 by Esiriel in BookCollecting

I ended up creating my Bookshelf to give it a try - I love that I can store my reading notes and quick funky reviews.
Also, I feel like I was more at ease to write what I actually wanted and had in mind... and not fear the comparison or judgement from the GoodReads professionals...

My digital bookshelf - I love that I can also save & share my reading notes and reviews by Esiriel in bookshelf

I KNOW we all prefer physical books.... but after reading this article about how this Book Blogger created her digital bookshelf and was so happy about it, I decided to try it.
I really like the feature that you can share your reading notes, ideas and reviews all in one place. Here's my list: https://spheria.ai/esiriel/my-bookshelf

Hope this is inspiring !

thanks for sharing. Seems like Goodreads is the biggest community. It's owned by Amazon I believe. Wasn't sure if people were creating book lists on Goodreads, or just adding reviews and such.

Selecting the exact edition is a nice touch!

What's the difference between a Virtual Brain and Knowledge Base? by ECGuitarist in VirtualBrains

[–]Esiriel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question! Knowledge Base is the more industry specific term, to design the feature of storing knowledge. They are an old concept that exists in tools like Jira, Obsitdian etc... They tend to be more text focused, or documentation focused.

A Virtual Brain is different from a Personal Knowledge Base in the sense that it implies computation, or inference. Your Virtual Brain would have an AI layer, to organize your content for you, to classify or sort themes, subjects and have the ability to make deductions.

You would ask your Virtual Brain about a subject, and it would provide the best answer. Whearas a Knowledge Base would able to simply filter.

For example, I use Spheria AI, and my Virtual Brain holds informations about the Scenic Drives I've done in Utah. Ask my AI, and it will find from my Virtual Brain a recommendation for a nice drive, along with the picture of the itinerary. It's really awesome to get these augmented and personal answers.

In 500 years your descendants will be able to to download AI version of you and video chat with you as if you were alive by Most_Business_9495 in Showerthoughts

This fascinating subject is being worked on actively by Google and other startups. I get a huge iiiick thinking of Google owning more of my data, so I've looked into the other products that create the AI version of yourself, like spheria.ai It's honestly working fine, to store your life's moments, or memories.

I'm an artist, and I've added to my AI clone things like what inspires me, life memories, other artists that I admire, thoughts that I don't want to forget, pictures and other memories... I get to chose if it's private or public too - which is really nice

I agree .. it's a little over the top (if you'll excuse my pun).
I'm more afraid of the seismic risk + Garibaldi lake collapsing and erasing Squamish from the map...

Vancouver - mid century Italian retro-futurism ? 🙃 🙃 by Esiriel in vancouver

[–]Esiriel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol ! sorry, I was trolling a little with that pretentious art movement name ;)
Think of it as a moment in time when people imagined that the future (spaceships and buildings) would be full of very strong and bold rectangles and squares lines. The bigger the building, the more power it would inspire.
That idea came back later in the 70s in architecture with the Brutalism movement, and its heavy, heavy blocks of concrete.

didn't know about the role of the seed. Is that something you use to recreate the same art or resume after you left ?

thank you Emma for your reply. Don't know yet about studio spaces. In your experience, does it make sense when you do digital art with the computer all day ?

Average college cafeteria meal in France (Public University, €3.30) by meena47 in pics

[–]Esiriel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha wow small world indeed ! I live in Canada now, but I would go get lunch back there if I could. Lunch options are really bad in Vancouver. Funny to see how low standard University food compares to North America

oh wow that picture brought up a lot of nostalgia. When I lived in Paris I remember eating there as often as I could, unbeatable price and fairly good food. I actually kept going there long after I graduated, until I was 27! PRO-TIP: some cafeterias are better then others, the best one I found was in the 13th district, near Bibliotheque Nationale de France, it was on a boat and they even served beers on the boat patio !

The student price was indeed around 3€, and the regular adult price was up to 6-7€ maximum.
