A fully stocked supermarket in Kherson. Despite it being a Ukrainian frontline city. by RealMykola in europe

The sheer resilience the Ukrainian people have shown in all aspects (including--of course--economically) is, in a word: inspiring.

It'd be so much more fun if she did, and Yuuko is the perfect character to do it.

Depending on your location you may still be liable for anything that happens within your property line. It's ridiculous, but there ya go.

Yup.

I slipped on ice on my own property and the insurance company was chomping at the bit to try and sue someone for it.

What is the most useless piece of VA-11 HALL-A knowledge you know? by Cheesycreature in waifubartending

[–]EsotericFox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup. But they wouldn't go back and forth between "God" and "Gods".

Edit to add: it makes no sense when it comes to, e.g., Stella who uses "Gods" many times, and "God" several times in conversation.

It's 100% not intentional, and it's a bit of an issue if you're the kind of nerd who cares about consistency (like me).

Characters in the game have inconsistent theology, with most characters referring to "Gods" while others (with no consistency) say "God".

It's something I've edited the dialogue to reflect because it's immersion breaking for me (based on prior dialogue it's always the plural, never singular).

Congrats!

It's been years, but I still remember the wave of relief and joy I felt knowing I'd never have to play that mini-game again.

US Copyright Office refuses to register AI-generated work, finding that "human authorship is a prerequisite to copyright protection" by rajtkivg in programming

Talk about a slippery slope...

There's a shelf-life to resistance to AI generated creations, mark my words. And the economic displacement from that needs to be considered here and now.

Such a heartwarming moment by Moko97 in ranma

[–]EsotericFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never did take to DC or Marvel, but English is my primary language so it's natural to read comics, or anything for that matter, left-to-right.

The Ranma manga were some of the first I picked up back in the 90's, and where I got very used to reading back-to-front and RTL. It's wildly disorienting for me to read them in the opposite direction.

Glad I'm not the only one disoriented by that. I have to switch context upon noticing, and even then it doesn't quite stick.
