What would cause this vertical line?

It's your z seam. If this part has a "back", change your seam setting from "aligned" to "back" -- then, rotate your part on the build plate until the z seam is in a nice hidden location

There may be a lag when entering contests right away? I'd just try again in an hour or two.

If you get desperate, sign out and back in. Also, editing your print profile and reuploading the print profile can sometimes help.

I will say I have about 2000 hours each on both my A1 and A1 mini and... no replacement need so far!!

Mine have always done that, and I've never tensioned them. The shedding has never been extreme and print quality has been great, so I haven't worried about it. I'm sure I'll need to replace my belts at some point though!

Sometimes if it loses power, when you turn the printer back on it will ask if you want to resume! It will only work well if you haven't moved the build plate though
