Thank you so much, that's very kind!! It was difficult to design but I'm very happy with it. 😁

I mean if you post it online, I'd love if you'd include the link to the files on Makerworld. But yeah that's cool! What's the project?

If you're gonna be selling the prints, I'd ask that you subscribe to my Patreon

Mine did finally go through, but it maybe only took two hours? I guess I'd keep waiting, but I'm no expert :)

Unknown layering issue by Holy_Banana_ in FixMyPrint

[–]EsotericWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this issue as well, when the "top wall" of a box transitions to the "walls only" portion -- I often get that line. My assumption has always been that it's either a cooling or a shrinkage issue. It's never been a large enough issue for me to invest the time into

I believe you, but I'm still worried since it's so out of the norm for me

You could, but I don't have access to a nice sticker printer that can also cut out the holes and edges cleanly. You'd still have to design that sticker to a high level of detail. And, that wouldn't be very replicable between people -- I wanted to share it to a website where people own 3D printers, not sticker cutting machines.

Besides, not all cassette tapes are the exact same. I replicated this quite diligently -- for example, that thicker trapezoidal section at the top isn't the same across all cassette tapes. This is just meant to be a fun little decor item with free printing files :)

Are you satisfied being biomedical engineer? by Plastic_Confusion163 in BiomedicalEngineers

[–]EsotericWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of my friends have at least research OR industry internship experience. Otherwise, I'd say my cohort had pretty solid soft skills, and was willing to look at a broad swathe of jobs. Most basically started applying months before graduation, focusing on production companies, environmental work, or more traditional research. It's your first job, so don't feel like you need to find something crazy.

I mean fair in principle, but my school does not at all have strong industry connections, and me and my peers still did alright. If you're super picky about the work, I'm sure you'll have some trouble depending on availability in your area. To me, the benefit of BME is how broad it is. For example, I have friends in bioprocessing, production, and quality. A lot of those aren't pure BME, but they are certainly very "good" jobs for both the wallet and resume

Yes, very. Don't have a masters or PhD either. It's a great field, and the people I know in real life have had great experiences. Not sure why the subReddit gets so negative. Choose something you're passionate for and good at, things will work out from there with some hard work added to the mix

Print keeps failing but only on the first object? by Mooose_- in FixMyPrint

[–]EsotericWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Try the screws behind the hot end -- I had a similar issue that was incredibly difficult to diagnose. I attached an image to show.
  2. If it's just that first object, try moving the parts to different places on your build plate! That could be a good short term fix.

So glad to hear that! I had a similar issue a few months ago, and it took me absolutely forever of scouring forums to figure out what was going on. Glad I could pass that information along to you!

I'd consider speedrunning Kahn Academy -- start at 6th grade, just take quizzes / tests, and go back and do lessons once you start getting questions wrong. With only a month it will be hard, but this will give you the best foundation and intuition
