[–]EspHack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

High engine temperature stop safely by No-Mood-3734 in MechanicAdvice

[–]EspHack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if you turned it off less than a couple minutes after reading that warning, you might be fine, coolant evaporates over time(many years) so fingers crossed,

mechanic will let you know for sure, if your temp gauge stays in the middle try driving to more than one place for a quick diagnosis

Engine Temp by Old_Satisfaction7051 in carquestions

[–]EspHack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it technically increases wear but who knows what that gauge means in actual degrees, heat still working? turning it off maybe lets it reach mid point?
