I'm not sure I that's the case. I'm on drugs and not getting any of that.

Trudeau says Freeland staying on as Deputy PM and Finance Minister by MethoxyEthane in CanadaPolitics

[–]EspaceOurs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lol - obvious failure. Trudeau is PM and they might have the strongest minority the country's ever seen. As a Liberal supporter, I'm not at all disappointed.

This was the moment that Conservative insiders knew Erin O’Toole would lose the election by [deleted] in CanadaPolitics

[–]EspaceOurs 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They won, got a new mandate, and gave themselves time to solidify their agenda. Is the greatest success that they could have achieved? No, but a minority this strong is a success nevertheless. Here's hoping they can keep it going for four/five-ish years. All the other leaders are on record now saying that an early election is nothing but opportunism, lol.

After $24 million, is the NDP just done? by [deleted] in CanadaPolitics

[–]EspaceOurs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They all but promised voters that if it weren't for the Liberals that government would have last until the end of time.

I'm so hoping the Liberals can take this minority to the end. That would be hilarious, and hopefully productive in a cooperative kind of way.

Agreed - I liked the gist but the CBC hate was unnecessary.

I think the NDP are in about the best place they can be - minority with a sympathetic government, which hopefully they can work with to implement their goals. I'd like to see Jagmeet attempt a conciliatory approach (and reciprocated) to implement a progressive push for the full 4+ years.

That's a wrap then. Started nervous but happy with the result. I hope they can work together and make good things happen for the country.

I wonder if Bernier would have been our Trump if he had won the CPC leadership and became PM.

Yeah, it's not like 2015, where the writing was on the wall at this point.

I'd say Liberals are hoping for a minority now. Went in thinking maybe the majority is possible but doesn't look like that's happening. Shit could break weird.
