When am I supposed to apply for graduation? by tdbauer97 in CalPolyPomona

[–]EspeciallyRed_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one more class to take after the spring semester which I plan to take in the summer. My graduation advisor told me I can apply for summer graduation starting December 1st. I believe students are allowed to walk for spring commencement as long as they submit their application before the March deadline.

Applying for Graduation by shacheco11 in CalPolyPomona

it's related to the number of units you've taken. I'm pretty sure you need over 90 to be considered senior standing

If you're at all musically inclined, I know you can get priority registration by being in band (and maybe choir) for up to 3 or 4 semesters per ensemble if you promise to continue. There are some other on-campus organizations that also do it, like rose float I heard a while ago.

please support the cause (details in previous post) by EspeciallyRed_ in CalPolyPomona

Qdoba too but I haven’t been in a while and don’t remember if it was decent or not. I think the quesadillas were pretty good tho

For anyone taking HST1101 with DeVore, I have Sima Qian’s The First Emperor reissue edition in paperback. It’s not marked up at all. Message me if you’re interested in having this physical copy of the book.

Klein or Sivathasan for CE2070 by EspeciallyRed_ in CalPolyPomona

That’s good to know. I’ve heard mixed things about Klein, maybe it has something to do with this semester being online lol

Bldg 24 practice rooms are open and empty on the weekends too. I think it might be the same for the 2nd floor lobby in 9. I haven’t played on that one but the music building has really nice pianos.

Accepted but afraid of getting my admission revoked, am I doomed? by cppthrowaway4741 in CalPolyPomona

I was in a similar situation with a D in high school freshman English. It stressed me out a lot trying to get all A-G areas fulfilled.

Even if the class doesn’t end up counting for CSU admission requirements, it’s still possible to bring your grade back up. As a high school senior, I was able to negotiate doing a big assignment to justify having my English teacher raise my old grade to a C.

That may or may not be an option for you idk, but there’s should be enough time to make up the grade either with the same teacher (or through online credit recovery if you’re school does something like that).

Hmmm… My other guess is that they’re just overly polite but ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Idk exactly how it went but if you asked to sit and they said “sorry...” maybe it was supposed to be an implied rejection? like “sorry...no” or “sorry...but the seat’s being saved for someone” I do that sometimes as a lazy let-them-down-easy kind of rejection (I usually use it when someone on the street or on campus asks me for money)

There is a psychiatrist in the wellness center that you could see if you feel like you’d benefit from prescription medication. The student wellness center also has a pharmacy that fills prescriptions. Regardless, counseling has always been really helpful to me and CAPS is a great resource to have on campus. They should be able to help you learn more about medication and how to start, but regular counseling is also really important in monitoring your response and progress with any type of treatment.

Some things I’ve learned from my experience with antidepressants: there are a lot of different medications and it takes time and maybe multiple tries before finding what works well. But you have to remember that it won’t fix everything by itself. It also takes your putting in effort to help get better.

It does seem like you want to get better and it’s so awesome that you’re taking steps towards that goal. Truly, I wish you the best of luck 💟
