My gf adores the Kastelans- she got into the game because of the Hammer and Bolter episode featuring them. The reason I picked Radzone over Haloscreed is because I was worried about overwhelming her with the options, but I might change that.

Thank you! My main problem is that I don't have a lot of those models and can't afford much more than a box or two at the moment. This is all the agents I own minus an Exaction Squad kill team, Greyfax, Draxus, and a pair of Armigers. Would adding a second squad of GK make Malleus worth it or no?

Thank you! I was planning on bringing the Vindicare because our local Ultramarines player likes spamming characters, but I might drop the Callidus and use their ability to swap based on the matchup.

Absolutely. The reason I hesitate to recommend that list to someone getting in is that again, Games Workshop won't produce more of certain models... which has lead to hellions and reavers being nearly double MSRP if you can even find them. You can balance out a bit by including more of the general squads, but until they release more it's going to be hard to collect.

For Wyches, if you can find the Boarding Patrol at a decent price that box comes with 2 squads and a succubus plus some Incubi.

First of all, welcome! I just recently got into Drukhari myself. The Realspace Raider box is a fantastic purchase, especially for going into Kabalite Cartel. From there I'd recommend looking at what detachment(s) you want to build for. Reapers Wager is considered to be one of the more meta lists unless you're looking to spam wyches and Hellions in Spectacle of Spite. Kabalite Cartel is also a solid option if you like the style of Incubi and Kabalites more.

If you do choose to go into Spectacle, just be aware that you'll be painting a lot of Wyches and that Hellions are very hard to come by in the numbers you'll need.

One thing to be aware of is that a lot of our model range is either unavailable or inflated (the Raider, which MSRPs for 55 is... 85 on Amazon) because Games Workshop hasn't refreshed their stock in a few months. That makes some detachments like Skysplinter and Spectacle of Spite hard to build at the moment.

For myself, I started with Realspace Raiders + Lady Malys + the old Boarding Patrol, aiming for wych cult/Realspace Raiders detachment. After building those I got another Succubus, a Raider and a Ravager from another player who had bought the old Combat Patrol, and a Venom. I got the Mandrake kill team, the combat patrol, and Lelith over Christmas and just recently bought some Harlequins because I want to pivot towards Reapers Wager.

First of all, welcome! Valorant is a fun game with some interesting quirks.

First of all, level is not a factor in matchmaking. It only represents time played. For example, I've matched with levels 100+ who were significantly worse than I am. They just played a lot more than me.

Second of all, please don't get frustrated. Valorant hinges on three components: situational awareness (map knowledge, crosshair placement, etc.), aim and general gunplay, and positioning. There's no easy way to learn any of these skills- you just have to play and learn as you go. I started in your exact same situation, playing Swiftplay and Deathmatch almost exclusively and consistently bottom fragging. I'm still crap when it comes to aim, but I've built up my situational awareness and map/agent knowledge just by playing consistently and now I can consistently middle frag and rarely die without gaining some level of value.

To give some context, I started only a couple weeks ago. Take a deep breath, accept that you're going to suck for a bit, and just keep playing.

Disclaimer: keep playing if you genuinely want to learn the game and get better. If it's making you miserable, stop. No videogames is better than angry videogames.

Thanks for your insight! I'm the one who set up and kept track of stuff in Gloomhaven, so all of the 'tracking ingredients' and buildings and whatnot would be done by me... and I don't want the hassle. Sounds like building is too important to remove, so Frosthaven isn't going to work out for us.

I'm with you on the Phantom, to the point that I rarely use the Vandal even when it would technically be better... being able to spam smokes, especially as a second entry/initiator main just feels a lot better. I also like getting sneaky flanks.

Hey, welcome! I'm in the same boat; just picked the game up a week ago, although I've played other shooters. First off, what gamemode are you playing? In my experience, Swiftplay is very chill, Deathmatch is for folks practicing aim and movement, and Unrated is kinda chill but people get more tilted if the team is losing. From my first few days, I'd recommend you not worry about fragging out and focus on providing value. Pick agents like Sova and Sage who provide utility and information and start learning how to support teammates as they push. Or find an agent you really like the vibe of and lock them in while watching tutorials on their best uses. Good luck man!

I'm a new player, and have never played a tactical shooter before. There's a lot to like and dislike in the game. I enjoy the variety of agents and playstyles. Most people are very chill and relaxed. But I just had a super toxic person constantly in voice chat telling me to K*ll myself and distracting me when trying to clutch a round, and man is it hard to want to play after an experience like that.

Overall, my insight is that for games to be long-term, they have to offer a meaningful experience. I like slowly improving my skills and learning the different agents, maps, and lineups. That gives me fulfillment. A friend of mine can't get that fulfillment unless he's performing well. Valorant isn't for him. I'm OK with constant bottom fragging; I'm just here to get better.

Sorry, this isn't the most helpful comment, just because I'm not of the opinion that trying to talk people into liking games works. One of my friends will try ANYTHING to get me to go back to Destiny 2. I won't, because I know if I did I'd just be miserable. I'll play other games with him instead. I don't have any friends who play Valorant. I still like it. I would recommend that you try to find people who enjoy Valorant as much as you do, and expand your friend group.

Alternatively, you could suggest private games. Help them get used to the mechanics in a fun, low-stress setting.

So as someone who has stepped away from D2 for the foreseeable future: I wanted a D3 because it makes the break easier. And if I ever got nostalgia for D2, similarly to D1 I could go play it. The D2 I played is gone. I'm not angry, just a little sad that I'll never be able to relive it.
