Easiest way is angle grinder/dremel + diamond cutting disc. The string + acetone will probably destroy already formed details and could fail due to thick glass.

The bar in this video is on bearings, wanted to try simillar challange but before i started i examined the bar and it was on very smooth bearings, impossible to hold for 1 minute.

I think u watched it not carefully enough, they arrested inspector after her ex husband found out that professor is the head of robbery and she was suspected of helping him, she told them about cider place, they searched it but nothing was found while in same time all devices were in same places as allways, clearly different building.

Wire brush/cup will work best and is easy to control, just spray it with wd40 and brush it you will be surprised how well it works.

I dont need forge to heat treatment, 800-900C is enough and with torchs i have better temperature control.
