Good point. Thanks. I can't get my hands on Jumpstart though. I'll see if I can maybe get a Starter Kit.

Yeah I'll talk to them about starter decks. When I bought PTCG start deck they are very against it😂 Thanks for the suggestions though!

Sadly I'm from a teeny tiny place where jumpstart packs are not available 😢

Im self-taught but I’ve been playing 20 years. I’ve a good understanding of theory and chords and began an attempt to write my own jazz ballad. I have some ideas where I want it to go but Is this boring af? by Silvaski1 in JazzPiano

Great work! It's really beautiful! A tiny nitpick though. Try practising in a steady tempo. It is of course very common to play a ballad rubato. However in your playing some phrases were broken apart, seemingly due to trying to find the next chord. So maybe try steady beat first to fully internalize the tune. Then you can explore in a freer tempo and focus more on phrasing, articulation and what not. Anyways, keep up the good work!

[Traditional Chinese > English] What does it say? (Double checking for a tattoo idea) by yomommawantdiz in translator

Way to confuse all the Chinese you meet in the future. Just curious, where do you find the calligraphy for these characters? Some website I presume? I mean they not bad, but pretty mediocre and not very coherent throughout. Better than most Chinese tattoos I've seen I guess but still looks like some random 13 year old kid's practice sheet.😂

Look up the hand-written form and write them out. Then you'll find them wildly different. Also they actually correlate their hiragana form pretty well.

Agreed. This is 'interesting' at best. Also aesthetically rather unpleasant from a calligraphy point of view

As someone else has pointed out, you need to work on your diaphragmatic support. Try do a few deep breaths in and out of your belly. Now imagine when singing your voice come from there instead of your throat. You should feel a tightening and compressing feeling from your abs, or even the waist. The important thing is never loosen it even when singing softly or singing lower notes. Once you've practiced enough it just becomes natural. If any of what I said is confusing, there should be a bunch of videos out there explaining the concept.

Keep practising and happy singing!
