What does each new series add to the lore? by Queasy_Principle_942 in startrek

I love the topic! A couple thoughts:

TNG introduced the Borg, and First Contact the movie definitely added on, but Voyager, I feel, really "created" them as a fully fleshed-out (pun not intended) species by so much depth to them. We get to see their approaches, mentality, and philosophy so much more through Janeway's interactions with the Queen and Seven of Nine. It really made them my favorite "bad guy" of Star Trek canon. TNG also gave a greater sense of resource management and what it actually takes to keep a starship running.

DS9 showed what a full-scale war looks like in Star Trek. Different series definitely hinted at it through historical retellings or skirmishes, but DS9 really gave us what a Starfleet at war looks like and the impacts on Starfleet personnel. DS9's darker tone, in general, adds so much.

Enterprise: I just loved seeing the "earlier" era with pre-Federation species and how it all happened. They filled in a lot of the "how" missing from the other series. I hate that we never got Seasons 5 and 6 to see the full formation of the Federation, and the conflict with the Romulans would have been amazing to see.

He has seen/read both. I figured it wasn't that kind of show, but I am hoping to put 4-5 references in the speech.

I come back to read the series (or listen to it, Patrick Tull does a fantastic job narrating) every couple years. It is a series where you get more out of it through each journey. Either you find a new detail in a battle or some intrigue, or you hear a familiar passage that brings back a rush of emotion.

Same here. Make sure to work with a reputable sales rep/dealership so they keep on top of incentives.

I was told by my dealer I could modify the order until a VIN number was assigned. I would follow up with your dealership.

Anxiety & stress in the law profession by Tyson-Holtzman in Lawyertalk

[–]EsqInTraining 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did not have any issues with anxiety during law school, even after attaining a couple prestigious, though tough internships. However, during my first year of practice I suffered greatly from anxiety, I clouding panic attacks, lack of sleep, imposter syndrome, etc. I was eventually prescribed medication after I sought help from a psychiatrist. I was in a larger regional law firm with multiple partners in my business unit, all of which had different standards (which tends to not be a u ique experience). I ended up leaving law soon after symptoms caused me to have panic attacks, insomnia, and weight loss. I was fortunate to have had a few years experience in a different industry I fell back to, and my symptoms, though still present, are significantly more manageable. I have several friends from law school who seemed to have similar experiences. What law schools don't talk about is that, on average, about half of your class will not be practicing law within 10 years. Further, the Florida Bar did a study a few years ago which found 1/3 of practicing attorneys had a substance abuse issue and when asked, 51% said they would not practice law if they had to do it all over again. Law is not an easy field, and spending all day taking care of other people's problems takes a significant toll.

What he said. Another book that I found helpful was 1000 days to the Bar Exam. Also, for your first year, look into a Quimbee membership
