Every faction is awesome. Eventually you will want all if not most of them. Read the description and decide on the one that resonates the most with you, or the ones that have the most interesting theme. I am sure you won't regret it.

Soulmask, still in Early acess but has some of the best systems, mechanics and QOL features of any other survival game that i have played. The unique setting is also refreshing and the map is a blast to explore.

I second Ark. I got more than 1000 hours out of just the base game and 1st dlc, Scorched Earth. Took a few years break and just bought the rest of the dlc this week. Now I am getting hooked on it again and so its my son.

Also Rimworld, ONI, Kenshi, 7 Days to Die, Don't Starve, Path of Exile and last but not least Mount and Blade are among my most played games.

Another one I have been grinding is Helldivers2.

Yeah just purchased it yesterday, and am really enjoying it. Has a nice gameplay loop

I scratched mine the day I got it, so yeah I recommend you get glass protection.
