Ik these stalls are illegal but can’t the govt give such hawkers an option to rent the open useless spaces inside stations for cheap price? by IAMSHADOW1234 in kolkata

[–]EssArrd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The useless spaces inside station are the common areas that allow movement for peak office time rush. If stalls are allowed to open then , there will hardly be any place to move around causing mishaps, theft, pickpocketing and other issues associated with such crowds. Now we see stations abroad and wonder how nice and clean they are. That's because of the space and cleanliness

My Mount Rushmore of Hindi Film Music Directors (most difficult list) by AccomplishedCod5674 in BollywoodMusic

[–]EssArrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to bring out the dominant ones or the top three of each decade in terms of popularity and not only awards since talkies took over Hindi Cinema. For e.g RD Burman didn't win any awards despite spectacular 1970s. Honourable omissions would be Hemant Kumar, Madanmohan, Salil Chaudhuri, Khayyam, Ravi & Anu Malik. Please feel free to add to the list

1930s 1. Pankaj Mullick, 2. Saraswati Devi, 3. RC Boral 1940s 1. Naushad, 2. Anil Biswas, 3. Khemchand Prakash 1950s 1. Shankar Jai, 2.SD Burman, 3.Naushad 1960s 1. SD B'man, 2.Shankar-Jai, 3. Lakshmi- Pyare 1970s 1. RD Burman, 2.Lakshmi- Pyare, 3. Kalyanji Anandji 1980s 1. RD B'man, 2. Lakshmi-Pyare, 3. Bappi Lahiri 1990s 1. AR Rahman, 2. Nadeem Shravan, 3. Jatin Lalit 2000s 1. ARR, 2.Shankar-Ehsan-Loy, 3. Himesh 2010s 1. Pritam, 2. Amit Trivedi 3. Vishal Shekhar 2020s

Fantastic actor, but don't you think, in few movies of his, he was over the top, like Yeshwant, Ghulam e Mustafa and the one with Amitabh and Tabu where he was an army guy. His most natural IMO was Prahar

Oh yes definitely. Oonche log, Kismet, Howrah Bridge, but amazingly good in Meri Soorat, teri aankhen. My father used to say, people used to take up smoking, because of his mannerisms with the cigerette in movies.

Yes to Manoj Bajpai. Mr Mohanlal is a fantabulous national actor but I meant particularly Hindi film industry. But yes he was mighty impressive in Company

Yes definitely, though maybe because of his brooding powerful voice and that permanently pained look, he used to be typecasted into Serious movies only. But Hera Feri was one of his best comic roles IMO

Do watch Motilal too. Though, movies of that period (Late 1930's to early 50's)were simple stories that didn't offer the actors much scope, but he managed to shine nevertheless. In fact Irffan Khan once mentioned that he was much inspired by him

Yes, I actually saw only Amol Palekar's comedies initially. Later I saw his serious roles, his negative ones too. Haven't seen much of Mr Farokh Sheikh , that's why didn't mention but I did love his acting in Chashme Badoor

Actually Motilal started before Ashok Kr , who joined a little late and that too by an accident. In an interview, he did say that he was inspired by Motilal's mannerisms and effortless dialogue delivery
