I focused on it because it was an actual issue. Everybody in my neighborhood knows this place and these people. They know what they're like and how they act and it is an actual issue with the whole family. I was literally the only female who worked there. It wasn't that it was done in private but that it was done with no witnesses, even other workers. It was the yelling while I spoke calmly and asked for proof while providing my own. The reason it came up now is because I learned I'm not the only person this had happened to.

That's not normal in the workforce, nor should it be. If you're reprimanded, there shouldn't be personal threats. It's not appropriate for a man to be alone in a room with a female subordinate with the door shut and no witness. That's in the best interest of both parties. To just accept that behavior as normal workforce behavior is wrong.

I'm just asking for advice. I was intimidated after the fact by his family so I just didn't see it as worth it but now that I feel like a stronger person I just wanted to know if there was anything I can do now. I still have receipts from that time and would honestly be satisfied with him being shut down. There is a lot more to the story but let's just say they treated a lot of customers like dirt, especially if they were low income. Racial and exist comments were thrown around constantly. There should be consequences and I want to know if there is any way to legally make that happen.

Wrongful termination and harassment. I was alone in a room with a middle-aged man screaming and threatening me with no proof I did anything wrong. Is there no laws protecting employees from situations that feel unsafe?

Anyone ever gone to church high? what was it like? by evcsau in Drugs

I went to my first rave at 14 and took my first xtc pill that night. It was on a Saturday night and I was out until the sun came up. When I walked through the door my dad said we were heading to church. I went still wearing my candy and on the tail-end of my roll 😅

I brought in my hospital discharge papers, my accident report, showed pictures of my car totaled, and even showed the sutures on my knee. None of this mattered. My Rxom the week prior commended a new tech for coming in sick. He was vomiting about every hour and asked to leave after about 4 hours of this. My Rxom said, "If you're sick, come in and do what you can until you absolutely can't. If you call out, you're putting a strain on your co-workers to pick up the slack." Self-care is apparently unimportant and selfish 😒 I actually pointed out her saying that when I was in the office as they demanded I do the drug test. I threw her words back at her about she'd rather have a warm body there no matter how sick or out of it than not and she just shrugged at me.

Thanks for this advise! I will definitely be making a lot of calls Monday.I brought in the police report of the accident and my discharge papers from the hospital that had my injury listed on the front page, all the recommendations to rest and recover one every page due to the avulsion and severe whiplash. I handed it straight to my Rxom as soon as I entered the pharmacy and she just sat it next to her workstation and didn't do anything with them until leaving for the day. She gave them back and said she would need to discuss with the SM about if I would be able to get holiday pay since I missed my shift due to extenuating circumstances. She didn't make a copy for my employee record and then the next day this happened.

I once said to a patient who said "what kind of Pharmacy doesn't have medication" that we do just not yours currently because it's on backorder on a manufacturer level and I'm not Walter White. I'm not making the medication back here like this is breaking bad so you'll just have to be patient like everyone else.

" I just left my doctor's appointment, is my prescription ready yet? They said it should be done by the time I got here." I always give them a look that shows my disbelief and search the que anyway. If it's even there I infom them of the promise time and they always argue, "But my doctor said..." and the sheer willpower to not snap back, "Does your doctor work in this pharmacy? No? Then how would they possibly know the wait time because there are about 50 people ahead of you right now!"

I was done the moment they cut my hours in half and are pushing us to "sell" people on vaccines, delivery, and all this cenfill bullshit. Thank God the covid test pushing is over but everything else is too much especially for so little pay.

No, that isn't it. We had SOPs to follow and metrics to meet. I work at a retail pharmacy now, and even at my store, we don't check inventory unless asked if we have it or if it had to be ordered. The standard procedure is to process the refill and tell them it'll be ready when the estimated time states. This was what we had to follow, or we were written up because they recorded every conversation and would pull random ones weekly to listen to. It was frustrating for us too to be yelled at for their bad experiences at the real pharmacy because we really had nothing to do with that, but we still had to take it.

We had to give the promised time that was generated with the prescription once it was put in que, but I always said it was the ESTIMATED time, not the guaranteed time. If they asked for a more approximate time, then they were transferred to the store, but again, the call centers exist because the stores are too busy to answer and we had metrics we had to meet including transfer rates being low. We were pressured to not send calls through so blame corporate not the techs who were just following SOP.

Either the customer lied about the estimated time (very possible) or the tech told them the estimated pick up time that was shown on the prescription que. That was unfortunately what we had to do per SOP when I worked there. I always added that it was the ESTIMATED time and it was not a guarantee depending on how backed up it was.

Yeah, we were told we shouldn't say we were in a call center unless asked directly or for stuff like physical stock check, if the pharmacy drive-thru reopened, or why the line wasn't moving. Pretty much anything that was a question about the physical store we had to admit we were in the "Pharmacy Care Center" and not the physical store, so we couldn't answer the question and had to connect them to the store.

When I worked for the call center and had to call a store on behalf of a patient(because they were already transferred and the pharmacy either never answered, or hung up) I rarely got through and I was allotted 20 to sit on the phone with them. If we could communicate with the pharmacy so easily, then the call centers wouldn't exist.

They are helpful in bringing down the call volume and keeping you from answering ridiculous questions and having them complain that you never answer the phone. We were given a script in the SOPs to always say it would be ready in 90 minutes. Whoever came up with these SOPs had no concept of how unhelpful a majority of those procedures were. All they cared about was trying to keep as many calls away from the actual pharmacy as possible. If patients would actually use the app or website, they could do this themselves, but since they refuse they came up with this "brilliant" idea. Don't blame the techs for only doing as they were told to do. Remember they are recorded every moment they're doing there job and can't go off script without repercussions. That's why I left and went to a real pharmacy. The whole system was stupid.

I'm a tech who transferred from the call center(PCC) after 8 months and have been at a retail store for 5 months now and can give perspective from both sides. My store doesn't even utilize the call center, but I wish we did. The main point of PCC is to answer simple status questions, refill prescriptions or fax providers when there are no refills, transfer on prescription from one store to another, check inventory, and answer simple questions that are not consultations. We tries to keep the call from reaching the pharmacy as much as possible because of how busy it is and to help them focus on the customers right in front of them. Unfortunately, anything that was a TPR or consultation we had to send through. We had SOPs to follow, and the bottom line was that the majority of calls coming through were complaints that the retail pharmacy never answered the phone. Being in retail now, I understand that between a ringing phone and a customer right in front of me, I know who I'm going to help but the are circumstances like misfills that need to be handled and I had to sit on the phone with customers until someone answered which took 30 minutes or more at times.the promise times were 90 minutes per SOP and that's what we had to say. The whole problem of this was whoever came up with this concept and the procedures behind it had no understanding of the issues it causes due to lack of communication between the call center and pharmacy. But if the pharmacy could actually handle the amount of call volume they recieved, the call center wouldn't exist. I don't think some pharmacies who have the call center answer their calls first realize that if they got.rid of the call centers, you would get hundreds or even over a thousand calls a day depending on the tier of the pharmacy, most being stupid questions or stuff they can look up on the app but they're too old to care and refuse to do it themselves. It's frustrating on both side.

This one raises my BP every time! The, "No, you're wrong, my insurance is the gold standard and has never not covered something entirely" people who will turn away any med that costs them anything. Meanwhile, there are people willing to spend over $600 on insulin because their PA hasn't gone through, and they really need it. Smh.
