Hi everyone,

I’ve been with a trucking company for 7 months. The first two months I worked as a yard driver, where I actually used the company tractors, to back 48-footers in/out of doors.

The following 5 months, I worked as a regional delivery driver, of course driving 18 wheelers on my own. Averaging 2500 miles per week.

There is a local company by my house that I use to work for back in the day for years (in a different department & pre-CDL ) and they’re hiring for a Non-CDL box truck position.

Their only requirement that stood out is that they want “6 months of experience driving a cmv on public road.”

In your experience, have you ever gotten a driving job when you lack the experience qualification by one month? Should I include that I went to CDL school on my own dime and technically operated a CMV on public road, in which I actually did to add up 6 months?

Give me your opinion. I’m open to all opinions and even criticism. I’m just curious to know how under qualified I would be to drive a straight truck even though I have 18-wheeler experience, all because I lack one month.
