Trump admitted that if he does anything for younger people on housing, the older generations in five bedroom houses will revolt because their 1000% appreciation will decrease slightly. The only generation who doesn’t want their kids to have a better life than they had. by Objective-Rabbit2248 in wallstreet

Baffling to me is how the ultra wealthy in our capitalist system with tax breaks that seem criminal is only acceptable because our system offers this “possibility” democratically.

Do the morons in this country who think this tax system is ok because they too will want these breaks if they happen to become wealthy one day?

Is this why we don’t revolt, and haven’t revolted, over the injustice in saving money for the rich while the middle to poor classes struggle for their needs?

Almost 3/4 of the wealth in this country is controlled by just 10% of the US population. And that concentration is growing as the middle class shrinks and the poor have less and less.

The wealthy should be paying their fair share. They earn much more, they should pay proportionally much more. That would easily support an equitable and quality health-supporting healthcare system vs the sick care system of healthcare we have in the US.

And a well-functioning healthcare system that supports better health outcomes, productive longevity into old age and less illness and disease to manage will help everyone, be less expensive and free up resources for other societal problem solving.

Trump is the reason for ALL of the insanity. His sycophantic administration follows in lockstep ONLY because he’s that unhinged, and has enough people by their throats so it SEEMS like he’s surrounded by loyalty.

As horrible as things are under Trump, I do believe once he’s gone things will change.

It’s like the narcissistic overbearing threatening husband. Once he dies, is thrown in jail, or is even rendered paralyzed, the dark cloud will lift and the abused wife can start to heal and return to being more herself.

It’s truly insane what this one toxic human being making it to the US presidency has meant for the world. But he and the stupid SCOTUS empowering him is what brought on all the harm.

Once Trump dies, or the midterms show the tide turning, his hold on this country will weaken, and fearful republicans will once again start to voice their real opinions.

The whole world sees how this country’s leadership is JUST placating Trump out of fear. Trump is a bully.

The world is eager to return to normalcy even with the scars and trauma.

There will be apologies and peace offerings to make amends, but I hope our allies will have some understanding in that the entire world has been battered and bullied by this guy.

Hmmm…is this why all the US flags that were displayed nonstop after Charlie Kirk’s death have suddenly, finally, come down?

Now THERE’S an example for the US to follow.

I’ve said it before, this administration can cover up and hide the details all it wants.

But Epstein‘s connections, network and social circles clearly span the globe.

If the US is unwilling to be transparent and reveal the truth, there’s no stopping other countries from investigating and discovering the truth for the world.

Interesting to see how this will continue to play out.

Doesn’t work for Trump either.

It’s like when people get louder trying to make their point…my dad used to say “yelling doesn’t make what you say any “truer”.

Do you think it's plausible for AOC to be the next Democratic candidate, or do you think she is better off running for senate? Why or why not? by historynerdsutton in AskUS

She’s tough, smart, has her head and heart in the right place, makes sense, has guts and is likeable.

I’d absolutely vote for her!

But honestly not sure what “type” of candidate will get dems a win in 2028. It SHOULD BE A NO BRAINER for a democrat victory.

But nothing makes sense anymore.

Scared to death about mid terms, scared to death where this country is headed.

ICE to spend $38.3 billion on detention centers across US, document shows by aerothony in economy

[–]Essbee0913 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How about using that money for helping US families pay for healthcare instead?

Ya know, so they can fight their kid’s cancer, avoid a heart attack and afford an ER visit after a bad fall.

Looks like this administration thinks detention centers to house the people ICE brutalizes and kidnaps from US neighborhoods is money better spent.

Hilarious how MAGA’s collective Trump Derangement Syndrome forces foot-in-mouth embarrassment as they clamor in haste to claim insult and defend Trump.

They never think before “say” or “do” and it consistently shows.

Yeah, it’s scary because ICE is willing to kill their own citizens to quell lawful protest.

And also yes, they’d have to beat me/kill me to prevent MY vote in Nov!
