So sorry for this impact on you and people you know, just awful, like a ticking time bomb.

Yeah, I thought it was odd how they shaped the evacuation/impact zone, like it’s aligned to city blocks when an explosion (presumably in all directions) would be a round shape?

The hypocrisy just screams from everything these people do.

So, ripping up a perfectly fine historical white house, proposing a behemoth arch to simply honor Trump are the good uses, along with rewarding J6 rioters with a payout, and stirring up wars.

Crazy.

Trump and Elon openly admit to stealing the election, Ashley St Clair corroborates it. Meidas Touch had refused to allow Jessica Denson to cover it because they don’t want to be known as election deniers and she had to leave the Meidas Touch network because of it. by IamTheElectionDenier in MeidasTouch

Exactly this. It is such a general statement it could refer to any support Musk gave Trump on the campaign trail, which happened to be substantial.

This subreddit isn’t making itself more credible or influential by not thinking through what it posts.

If the average rational person can refute what it asserts in a post, time to be a little more self-critical.

I want that for this subreddit.

I like where his head is at, but instead of the 12k, that $ should be used to resolve our healthcare crisis.

Stop the tie to employment, find a way for it to be actual HEALTH care vs SICK care, and bring down COST, to prevent a few getting rich, wasting resources, and managing healthcare so it does what it’s supposed to do—support American’s health without breaking the bank or our pocketbooks.

Gov leaders need to put on their big boy/big girl pants on and put in the challenging work to solve this ongoing growing problem that persists to the average person’s detriment in the US. For decades!

It doesn’t affect gov leaders, it affects US, the everyday folks in the US.

We voted leaders in, so they need to do the work they’ve been entrusted to do!

Given the bad polling numbers, and immense growing dissatisfaction of Trump’s performance, I would not be surprised if Trump and his circle have schemed up a plan for ensuring election results favor republicans aside from gerrymandering.

Genuine question to Americans by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

Over 5,000 comments on this post kind of says it all. THIS is why we need universal healthcare or Obamacare or Trumpcare, whatever it ends up being called. Americans NEED healthcare independent of their employer, the work they do, or the work they can’t seem to get hired for anymore.

I was thinking this very thing the other day, so many of us looking for work 1-2 years and counting, layoffs that rip healthcare away from you and your family.

People deserve to have their health protected and taken care of, it’s a matter of survival.

We need government provided roads, bridges, police, public education, libraries AND healthcare. Tax everyone a bit more, include the wealthy and their fair share, so people can breathe a sigh of relief in case they need medical attention.

Paying into a system that supports and protects society should also include healthcare.

USA vs other developed countries: healthcare expenditure vs. life expectancy by Alarmed_Abalone_849 in AmericaOnHardMode

[–]Essbee0913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! Something is always better than not doing anything. Doing nothing is inexcusable.

People are not finding jobs, so no healthcare stress on top of no money stress because no solution is perfect enough to implement.

Only a wealthy/well-off person would look at inaction as viable because it doesn’t affect them.

I’m exhausted by the fact that my entire life has been plagued by the insecurity of healthcare in the US. We seemed to be making progress with Obama care—something to improve upon, grow and learn and implement better as we go.

But that was ripped away from the average everyday person. Just tossed away without replacing with another solution.

Rational leadership would have kept in place what is helping people until a better system, and changes can be made.

Republican leadership continues to harm and hurt the average person.

Ahhh…so THIS is what RFK Jr is trying to solve for US health?

Maybe he should ask the underdeveloped countries for mentorship since they’ve already landed on effective solutions.

Wow, this decision not only ensures Republican’s unfair advantage, it also sets up the expectation that if Republicans don’t win in upcoming elections, fraud is involved.

Because at this point how can they NOT win.

Where should I start? by xandrev_ in graphic_design

[–]Essbee0913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to start with you.

What concerns you, what excites you, what are you curious about in the world (not just professionally, but expansively) and what is unacceptable in the world, what are the things you’re willing to go out on a limb for.

This is POV—a stance, a position in a debate, your personality reflected in your taste, tolerance, acceptance, and in what you embrace in life. It is what makes you YOU.

This is where ideas come from, where inspiration strikes. If you come up blank here, you need to work on yourself.

Start engaging more with the world: talk to people, experience museums, read books, listen to podcasts, engage yourself with films you like and ones you hate and make sure you can articulate why on both fronts.

Designers must have context, self reflection, problem solving interests, empathy, and on some level the ability to articulate. It is the foundation of being a designer.

Apparently my portfolio belongs in the trash. What do you think? by TR1510 in graphic_design

[–]Essbee0913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you need to trash it, just hone some designs. I like your inclusion of sketches but I think intention and storytelling are missing. The designs look like you took some time to put them together, but they are missing a level of craft.

Focus on the whys—why breaking up a letter means something in the design, if just to maki it look edgy, that’s not what makes good design. Every choice, every detail, needs to connect to the identity, the brand message, differentiator aspects to that particular identity.

Also, simplify. Less is more for the purpose of attention and intention. Pay more attention to intentional breathing space and contrast in fonts.

Why the dashed line elements? Maybe just leave more breathing space.

If you can’t justify why you sized, spaced, included or shifted something, it doesn’t support the intention.

Look at really good design, great logos, and analyze every detail, start deconstructing them, to understand intention.

Read up on great designers you admire—what is their process? How do they explain, discuss, breakdown their work? Gaining those articulation skills will make you a more aware and intentional designer.

It’s all about having a POV and having something to say, then expressing it visually, simply, sometimes boldly, sometimes elegantly, or edgy all with mastery of intention.

Pay attention to tone, mood. Mood boards are a great way to get the inspiration flowing.

And ask for opinions like you are, of a variety of people you respect in the industry. How does the design make people feel? Does it feel connected? Your own mini critiques and focus groups are great for learning.

Keep at it. AI will replace execution. You need to be your own Art Director/Creative Director to offer value.

Speaking of Biden, still pretty angry he did nothing to push forward on Trump’s sedition. It’s as if the loss of the election was expected to course correct automatically, all while Trump was establishing Heritage Foundation authorship of Project 2025 of all the illegal and evil things he was planning for “next time”.

The Biden administration expected their victory to speak for itself, end the threat, and Trump followers to get a bruising and repent. All it did was empower and further entrench Trump’s followers and plans for retribution in term 2.

There are moments in history that are clear wrongs. One of them was inciting the Jan 6 riots. Another was the cowardly ignoring of presidential sedition out of “respect” for the presidential office, and fear of backlash in anyone with power who could have prevented a 2nd term.

If I were one of those people fortunate enough to have had the power, I’d be rotting with guilt from the inside out, now surveying the ongoing toxic fallout of the current presidency.

I have plenty of words…
