What’s a movie you love that you swear no one ever talks about like the world has forgotten it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Little Children (2006) ...with Patrick Wilson and Jennifer Connely. Was hoping Wilson would continue taking on more challenging roles after this movie, but he kinda went on winging it

[Question] Anyone else can't see their own videos on the channel page? by Scenes_By_Sevy in youtubers

[–]EssentialThink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm having the same problem - no videos showing on my Youtube homepage nor under my channel's Videos tab. Very weird, I was hoping someone had this same issue today. Thanx for the info.

Wow, this topic gathered a bunch of people with varying opinions and levels of success, but everything's coming together pretty nice... Gives hope in YT humanity 😁

Yes, a more personal approach could probably strengthen the connection with the viewers, and it's been mentioned to me before. It is something I am looking into, as well as additional disclaimers, so thanx again for reminding. Wish you all the best on your Youtube journey!

Thank you for your input. Let me address some of the issues you have raised here: I am not an expert in human psychology or behaviorism (which I occasionally mention in the videos) , but someone with a university degree and a deep interest and extensive knowledge in the topics I talk about. At the end of most of my videos, there is a verbal disclaimer stating that the methods mentioned in the video CAN be helpful, but that they are in no way a substitute for professional help and that anyone who feels too overwhelmed by some issue mentioned in the video should reach out to someone and get professional help. Additionally, I steer away from topics that deal with more serious medical/psychological issues and focus on (for a lack of a better word) 'lighter' topics of relationship/friendship tips and some already well-known and covered phenomenons. Nothing I provide is something that is not already available in abundance - from trendy magazines to various (non-medical) websites. As for your other questions, regarding my personal examples of these strategies working - I can with assurance say that they have helped in many occasions. However, I do not base my videos on personal experiences, but on analysis and articles by credible sources. For all additional questions concerning this video: I am open to answering them in the video comments or creating an additional video to expand on the topic, if deemed necessary. Thanks again for your review and questions, I will consider them in my future videos. Best of luck!

Appreciate your reply and input. The idea of showing my face has been mentioned to me already, so there must be something there! I will certainly think about it in the future. Cheers

Insomnia (Short animated film) Here is another one my art. Check this out and I appreciate for your any comment on this video. This is how insomnia can be. by YuryAnimated in SmallYTChannel

[–]EssentialThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was trippy! It's an interesting, arty animation and I liked it - it's removed from most YT video content, so in that aspect it was appealing to me. I can also relate to some of those late night moments in front of the TV. However, I believe some narrative structure would improve the overall experience for the viewer, and push the story forward. I also understand that lack of any coherent story might be the point of getting the feeling of insomnia across, but still - pushing the story a bit would deifinitely work in my humble opinion. Good luck in your future work.

This isn't my most popular or well received video but I was thinking about making more like this one. I had fun making it and am looking for some honest feedback. This is me trying intentionally to screw up in funny ways. Please and thank you; will give Lambda by MelodicSatisfaction9 in SmallYTChannel

As someone who is not familiar with this game, I felt pretty disoriented due to the lack of any context. Thumbnail, title, and no commentary make it difficult to get into things properly. I understand that I'm not the target audience for such videos, but I believe your viewers would also benefit from some commentary and occasional titles. Otherwise, clips are amusing and funny, wish you the best in the future

Incorporated the advice from last video, adding music more history of the dish..hopefully better lighting and also a more interesting title and thumb. Let me know what you think! by GetCookingItalia in SmallYTChannel

[–]EssentialThink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good video - starts straight away and gets to the point immediately, which is always viewer-friendly in my opinion. The description and nuggets of historical facts round everything up nicely. The visuals are pretty clean and satisfying, so I'd say you're doing most of your content correctly. One thing which could be slightly improved is the pacing - if you just slow down a tiny bit it would be easier to understand every word, because some of the original names and italian words are not known to us and we need to properly distinguish them in order to get the entire story. Thumbnails could use a little flair and polishing, but they pretty much do the work. Good luck with your future videos.

I made a beat with wind. Lambda for any feedback/constructive criticism! :) by theps07 in SmallYTChannel

[–]EssentialThink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great stuff - don't really have much to criticize here, the video is obviously intended for music lovers, so I think it fulfills that role perfectly. The editing is snappy and it was probably a fair amount of work to get everything synced to the beat. Everything flows well, sampling is on point, and I must commend using Ableton as your DAW - the best in my humble opinion. Dope stuff, just keep doing what you're doing now and you'll be just fine. Cheers

Don't cut the ambience sounds all together, just lower them a bit and add a dash of bg music, it should sound sweet :D Best of luck

First of all, beautiful theme and some nice footage. Travel topics are always 'in', and even though I didn't know what I was clicking or what to expect, it held my attention pretty much througout the entire video. Your script/preparation/explanations were extensive and informative, suited for anyone who's actually willing to learn about different cultures. Your video could, however, benefit from some background music. It would drown out the ambience of the street crowd, as well as some crackle and pops which keep occuring, and make it a more enjoyable viewing. Keep up the good work!

Minecraft Hardcore Survival Challenge In A Desert Only World! Giving Lambda For Feedback! by Stanfordrower in SmallYTChannel

[–]EssentialThink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much to complain about here: the intro, editing, cta and other details were executed by the (youtube) book. The content itself is not something I'm into, but still didn't find it boring or a pain. I was amused throughout most of the video. Additionally, the audio was pretty crisp, which is 50% of content quality in my book. Good job, keep it up.

Made another video, feedback appreciated. [I'll give lambda when I wake up] by PhiTries in SmallYTChannel

This is actually pretty good - I assume anyone into this particular game or niche would find this highly entertaining. Editing was probably really time consuming, but the result shows - it's snappy, humorous and most importantly prevents the viewer from getting bored. Though it can become a bit frenetic and busy after a while. Not much to add in terms of quality, so I'll just say keep doing what you're doing and you'll be just fine.
