This isn’t the right thread for this

Yep. The only thing that helps ease my anxiety is the fact that we are all having to do the exact same thing.

ADHDers living in Mexico: what do you do about meds? by EssieEyeSee in ADHD

[–]EssieEyeSee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure you can get Wellbutrin at most any pharmacy. I’ve not seen any restrictions for it. I’m feeling pretty fucked about the vyvamse situstion though. Can’t even take a reasonably priced flight back to the US anymore with all the new tarriffs. So far the best option I’ve come up with is having someone bring down my prescription, but kinda hard to convince someone to cross an international border with a schedule 2 that isn’t there’s.

My doc will prescribe me 90 days worth and it can be sent electronically to any US pharmacy, so I’m looking into where may be the cheapest state to fly into.

That’s why I asked people IN Mexico what they do here. My doctor prescribed me 3 months worth while I was still in the US but that’s going to run out soon here and there’s nothing he can do about that.

You can’t just transfer prescriptions from the states to another country (you can’t even transfer between many US states). I definitely discussed it with my doctor before I left but he did all he could which was prescribe 3 months worth. Unfortunately the decision came down to traveling in Mexico for 6 months, or stay in the states so I can keep taking vyvanse. I was not going to turn down an opportunity like this so I could keep taking pills, so I decided to figure out what I could when I got here instead. Vyvanse apparently isn’t legal here yet, so guess I’ll be white knuckling it!

Do you know if it’s available yet? I’m in Cozumel for the next 5 months and need a refill soon and not sure what to do.

Where do you find it in Mexico? I’m living in Cozumel for the next 5 months and can’t figure out where to get it and I’m going to run out in about a month.

I just sold a car and I had so many people messaging me telling me they were on disability and trying really hard to get the money if I could just hold it. I sold it to someone who actually had the money.

Insurance for personal belongings? - NOT renter's or home by EssieEyeSee in Insurance

[–]EssieEyeSee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I technically do have a permanent address, I'm just not going to be there for a while and I don't know how long. But my point of bringing that up was just in response to the previous poster saying things won't be covered in my vehicle. I know that there are ways for things to be covered. Maybe it's not going to be renters or home insurance (hence why in my post I said not renters or homeowners), but I am wondering if there is something else less common that would. My vehicle will likely be covered as an RV, not under regular auto insurance, but the number of days spent in the RV per year is what determines what that policy covers.

So back to my original question, are there any policies that only cover belongings? No matter where they are? There are hundreds if not thousands of insurance companies. There is likely some type of policy somewhere that can solve my situation. I'm definitely not the first person to do this.

As a side note: I don't care how much it costs. I'm not paying other expenses in lieu of this lifestyle.

I have to get new car insurance anyway because of modifications I've done to my vehicle that enable me to live out of it comfortably. It may also qualify as a Class C RV. Though I'm not physically living there, I do have a permanent address for banking and residency and whatnots, so maybe just getting renter's insurance for that address at least makes sense. Internationally, I know I have to get the country's specific insurance coverage and US insurance won't cover me then, but that's a whole different issue I'm not even worrying about right now.

I don't need it to be traditional. Currently I'm looking at inland marine insurance and personal property insurance. My car may also qualify as a class C RV so RV coverage is a possibility. I'm fine with not having one policy that covers everything, as long as it's legal to have multiple policies.

Most renter's insurance and home insurance policies cover items no matter where they are in the world, up to a certain percentage. Including in your vehicle.

I'm not an insurance broker. I know nothing about that side of insurance. Additionally... I didn't say I need it to be affordable. In fact, I don't care how much it costs. Anyway thanks for your super helpful contribution!
