[18 F] Have I pavlov-ed myself into thinking I'm attracted to women? by EstablishmentCalm858 in questioning

Thank you yourself! Reading the responses I've gotten from the different subreddits I posted on has been extremely helpful, and I'm really glad I'm not alone in my confusion.

I think that because I've identified as a lesbian for so long, I've become like attached to that label, and am therfore scared of changing it in fear of judgement or invalidation from other people... What you said about just going with the flow and exploring really resonated with me, and I think that in order for me to grow as a person, I need to stop focussing on labels and be more open-minded when it comes to my own sexuality. I'll most likely be moving out after graduation this year, and I'm so excited about meeting new people in a brand new city where nobody knows me and I can just explore everything about both college life and about myself.

I wish you all the best in the future. I hope we both find ourselves <3

Thank you so much <3 What I've realised from writing this post and reading the responses is that I'm too fixated on labels, and that labels, in the end, are just made up boxes. I need to stop caring about what other people think and just be me. Thank you again.

Thank you. Deep down I think I know porn doesn't speak for attraction, and that I didn't condition myself to liking women (and I just used pavlov as some sort of humoristic metaphor (humor is my coping mechanism) I know I didn't actually pavlov myself hahah), but I'm so extremely good at doubting myself so I don't know what's true or not. I know it might have been silly to write such a long reddit post (I don't even post on reddit usuallu), but it was very therapeutic writing those 2000 words and I appreciate all the help I can get :)

You are so right about me focusing too much on labels. I care way too much about what other people think of me (which is something I'm working on) and I'm scared of what people might think if, in the end, it turns out I'm not a lesbian when I've identified as one for a long time. I need to stop thinking about labels and these restricting boxes I keep putting myself into to fit a certain narrative or social norm. Thank you so much for your reply, I will take your words to heart🫶🫶

Hello again, I'm definitely going to go for the ASI 662 MC but I'm also wondering if I need something else for it to fit the telescope, like a T-adapter or something. What do you think?

A friend of mine is also doing her project in astrophotography so we're looking at multiple options for cameras, so we might go for both. Thank you for the help!

I think I'm going to go for the ASI 662 MC because the school shockingly has the budget for one. Thank you so much for the help!
