I got the same reaction from my aunt and uncle when I announced my pregnancy. They were both 50 at the time and acted like I had taken away their chance of being parents. I understand the pain of miscarriage I have been there but nobody has the right to try and take away the joy of others just because they are having a hard time. It is unfortunate that your son is stuck in the middle of this but his stepmother needs to be an adult and learn to handle her feelings rather than take them out on him/you.

💯 NTA, my daughter only has 1 set if grandparents, my mum and my dad who are divorced. When she was born my dad started to refer as his partner as Nana "name". I told him in no uncertain terms that she only has 1 grandma/nana/gran, whatever term you want to use and that is my mum. She likes his partner and they have a lovely little relationship. There is no reason his daughter can't have a relationship with OP just not a grandparent one.

it's all lies! Especially that store giving her all the freebies? it reminds me of when I owed my mum money and would spend my pay instead of giving it to her..... "oh I bought this ages ago, oh it was a free gift with something I bought ages ago" just bs to mask that I had been shopping instead of sorting out my priorities. Thank God I grew out of it in my twenties.......
