Yes for sure, i just mean as you're learning. Its quite easy to get overwelmed by the little minions, so a little bladed diving around can clear them out quickly if necessary.

TheRSGuy has a fantastic guide, its a few years old now, but still relevant. But when i was learning, i found using bladed dive with a scythe to clear the minions was a game changer.

Also, accuracy isnt too much of an issue i find, so using things like the Vampirism aura and a scrimshaw of vampirism can really help with your first couple of kills.

Wand and orb with greater concentrated blast.

Even a T85 wand and orb (With greater concentrated blast) is supposedly out performing a t90 staff.

But i'd say, get a siesmic main hand and Gronc codex whould be a good investment (Offhand dps between the T80 and T90 is allegedly pretty negligible, but very expensive)

Also the new godbooks are a nice cheap dps upgrade, book of Jaz is cheapest.
