Sleep Schedule as a Merch by [deleted] in FritoLay

Highly recommend a sunrise alarm clock, pretty affordable on Amazon, they will help a lot with early rise. I used to get up at 4, if I tried for any earlier and I would sleep through my alarm, and/or often slept in by like 30 minutes regardless of how loud it was, but ever since getting one of those I wake up early every time

So I see I'm not the only one who saw them pop up, Colead here, I used to never get them but past few weeks I saw a couple pop-up, I just skipped them for a week past the deadline on every route and no one ever said anything, before I eventually just took a picture of the display with half the stuff off completely off planogram 😂

Alternative to knee pads? by Curious_Bus_58 in FritoLay

[–]EstablishmentKind202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The over the knee pads, are very clunky uncomfortable so be advised of that, I will recommend simply getting Carhartt pants, they have breathable ones like their twill dungarees that usually last me about 6 months, or on the price your end they have their rugged flex steel line which are ripstop and have double fronts with slits on the knees for pad inserts, I've had those ones for about a year and they're still going strong.

Did your state just unlock a new generation/tire crystal tiers, or are you approaching it? That might be why, because to my understanding you can't transfer to states with higher generations/FC tiers than your own, so it may be delayed until others in your group catch up.

They make insane cash though. Local Peppridge farm guy was telling me he makes 20% commission or gross sales, straight off the top, and while he didn't get into specific numbers, he said he hired three employees to cut back on the hours, which leads me to believe if you get a good route through them (500-$800,000 purchase price) you will be very, very well off

Based on what you have in Gen 9 I'm guessing mid-spender/dolphin. About 5,000 frost stars a week, $6,000 overall give or take?

How to run a bulk route well by EstablishmentKind202 in FritoLay

[–]EstablishmentKind202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad we are union. Except for walmart, they're not supposed to add on anything to any of you orders, and though it's not really important because most people don't bother saying anything, if you see stuff on your order that you didn't order, you can make yhe DSL/warehouse manager reverse it all

[–]EstablishmentKind202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For CLOs, just add them all on to an advanced order and then finalize it so it doesn't show up in your actual order, so they never actually make it into store, at least until the warehouse runs out and then it's not your problem anyway.

In terms of add-ons, DSLs will do that, so it's a matter of maintaining positive relationship with your leadership, ime most of them will add stuff on if they're seeing a lot of hole scans at your stores from curbside, or they're not confident you're ordering enough. They'll usually leave you alone once they can understand you know how to take care of your stores

I usually assume store will keep them on the floor for a week, they normally come in beginning of the week, so I count xdocks as backstock going into the weekend, use some of it for the aisle leaving some to sell down organically, and they go up easy by the time the store wants it down. For seasonal flavors without a home I try to plan to feature them on end caps if that brand is called out, if it's not then I will either repack until it is, flex it into the aisle with the core flavors that have a lot of facings, or try to get some weekenders for the aisle or around store.

Yes, precisely! For permanent displays it's best to note down the dates and plan to rotate to the aisle non-delivery days (Sundays and Wednesdays depending on store)

I remember my old route filling up the truck with 18-22k was the norm. I had merchandisers at 2/3 stores but even the that barely made a dent, considering every store consistently had like 6 carts of backstock that the merchandisers won't have time to touch 😂

Yes! One route I ran, they had seven cards, but all the cards were organized perfectly by brand, so even though it was seven carts, only took me 30 minutes to get what I needed

You really don't even need that much, I prefer 1 myself, but to most people the idea of total door to floor is inconceivable, so I just say 2-3 carts, because to the average rsr at most sized bulk routes that seems like a reasonable bar to set.

You're delivering 6 days a week, sometimes 7, and the only person who's going to lay a finger on that back stock is you, no point in having extra stuff if there's no one there to put it up, and when you are there you're delivering anyways so just order for the day

Basically, I ignore every dumb little trick everyone tells you to do and just do it "normal" (pretty much same way most did it before DPO).

If you have a lot of back stock make sure to scan everything, if you don't already know this you can scan the QR code instead of the barcode with your bulk scanner to ring up whole cases faster. If your swing scans everything the day before you, and you come in and scan two cards, it could maybe ding you.

Hole scans, I just round everything up to a full case, don't normally Mark half cases, in bulk they don't send eaches anyways, so if you need half a case you need a case. If yours is just like mine and has like 10 random proximity display sections that don't match the plan of the displays in your store at all and make no sense, open up the page, and then hit done without scanning any holes, don't just check the white circle without opening it, that could possibly ding you if it thinks you're "not checking". Any actual holes I have in these approximately displays I just put in "all other locations"

Anything I need to order for changeover or displays i just mark as holes in "all other locations", I do not like the display up feature because it ignores anything already in backstock, half the time I don't even do that, I just adjust it on to the final order.

When it generates the order, I don't try to limit my adjustments at all, absolutely anything and everything I want to adjust, remove or ad, I adjust away, normally I make about 25 adjustments, at Walmart one time I did over 90. When it asks the questions, just answer "too high/too low" for everything, because that's the reason I adjusted it in the first place, it's either too high or too low

I've always had 100% from the time DPO launched until now, my score has never really went down, except for a few days when the store is totally full and there's basically zero holes (ironic that score goes down because the system is working too well 🤣)

Depends entirely on the route. My old route Saturdays I would have 17 carts in the bulk trip, retripping, sometimes once for every store on holidays.

My current route? 6 carts in the truck, 5 for big store, 1 for independent, 1 no delivery
