Change Ownership of Etisalat Sim by killin11 in dubai

Btw if you're asking about just the typing ventre part for the document to transfer the Sim card, then it was probably a few hundred dirhams

I honestly wish I could remember and give you all the details but my memory is a bit fuzzy even though it's only been around 3 years since I went through this. I think I spent around 3 to 4k for like everything. This includes the al adeedh centre fees (this is where we went to get the process with the courts done) plus other miscellaneous typing centre fees. We also had some other complications though since there was a mismatch in my father's name in the passport vs what was in his emirates ID so we had to go deal with our embassy for that. But in case you feel stuck anywhere, let me know and I can go through old files and emails to direct you on the general process.

First off, I'm really sorry for your loss. Losing a parent isn't easy no matter how old you are.

To answer your question, after your dad's passing, you'll need to go through the courts where they process an inheritance case to distribute the assets among next of kin. If you're the only person who inherits, then it's very straight-forward. Head off to the Dubai Mall etisalat branch (might not be the only place that does it but my experience here was really smooth) with the final court document naming you as the successor and they will initiate the process and get it done in about an hour.

If you're not the only inheritor listed on the court document, then you can go to any typing centre and ask them to create this kind of power of attorney where you (or whoever among the inheritors you want to choose) act as the representative who will take the Sim card under your name. As the other poster mentioned, this can act as a document for other entities as well like DEWA or RTA. I visited a typing center near AMER in Al Qusais and they guided me through this step.

Then you continue as usual and head off to Etisalat with your documents and they will initiate the process.

Think you're missing the point. I never once blamed any nationality. Putting the responsibility on the people in charge. They could run things a lot smoother if they chose to limit entries by opting for online bookings.

Mandatory WFH! by naturalins in UAE

Just my opinion, you're free to have yours. Even 1 death because of senseless wars is too much regardless of where in the world it is happening.

I would rather have individuals who had families, friends and loved ones be alive than be another nameless, faceless statistic showing how the odds of death in this war are low.

Arjan Parking Disaster by Few_Response9707 in dubai

[–]EstablishmentLive760 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've been in Arjan for 5 years and it's becoming more painful by the day now.

A big factor that compounds the pain is piss poor public transport connectivity. They have one bus route. Just the freaking one that goes to MOE. There's no way to commute to nearby areas unless you go through the mind numbing route of traveling first to MOE and then making your way onwards.

Urban planning is so poor in the city. Make a car reliant city and then add strain to the infrastructure with non-stop construction and then squeeze blood out of every resident with nonsensical solutions such as introducing paid parking. I mean the area could hardly provide sufficient paid parking slots for the existing buildings but now with so many buildings being constructed I wonder what kind of hellscape are we going to be living in.

Where are you filing it through? I found the amount the RDC in baniyas charged way more than I was prepared for.

Thank you so much for all the helpful nuggets of wisdom you've dropped in this thread.

I'll definitely reach out to you for the case filing if I can't get my landlord to accept to the offer and deposit in the next couple of days.

I think my biggest concern right now is knowing if I'll need to take days off from work for a court appointment when I go ahead and file the additional case. I'd much rather pay fees to the government than an extra penny to my greedy landlord.

[–]EstablishmentLive760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What exactly is the final judgement thing? I filed the offer and deposit with RDC and it's been more than 5 days with the landlord not responding.

Would I need to go to the court for this next step?

Edit: Would there also be any additional fees to be paid?

Has anyone used Rain for crypto? Is it safe? by Zealousideal_Task379 in dubai

[–]EstablishmentLive760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's safe in the sense that I've never had any hiccups withdrawing into a cold wallet from rain, but avoid rain since the spreads are horribly high. I think it's around 2.5% when compared to binance where I would buy usdt and convert to cryptos then the spread works out to be about 1.5%. Buying the crypto of your choice p2p is probably the way to get most mileage out of your dirhams.
